Guidiville Indian Rancheria Advances Energy Sovereignty with Renewable Microgrid Harnyss is proud to announce with our valued partners that the Guidiville Indian Rancheria in Mendocino County, California, has taken a significant step toward energy independence with the purchase of a renewable energy microgrid. This system integrates solar PV with the Harnyss Oasis microgrid, which features electrostatic long-duration energy storage alongside on-site hydrogen production, storage, and a fuel cell for backup power. “We are excited to work with Michael Derry and the Guidiville Council, as well as Phillip Martin of Emtel Energy USA, Sean Ahern of Timberline Renewable Solutions, and our valued partners,” said Kirby Smith, CEO of Harnyss. This project, developed in partnership with Emtel Energy USA, Timberline Renewable Solutions, Colusa Indian Energy, 7Skyline, and Green-World Renewables, supports the Tribe’s commitment to clean, locally generated power while reducing reliance on traditional utilities. Tribal Microgrid Project Objectives: ? Transition to renewable energy generated on Tribal lands ? Enhance energy sovereignty by controlling all power production and usage ? Improve reliability and safety, minimizing outages ? Lower electricity costs for the community ? Develop workforce skills, training Tribal members in installation, maintenance, and operations ? Enable extended off-grid operation, reducing dependence on utility power ? Provide long-duration storage and backup power for full microgrid resilience About Harnyss Harnyss designs and manufactures modular, plug-and-play microgrid solutions featuring electrostatic energy storage and on-site hydrogen production for long-duration backup. Our Oasis and Oasis H2 platforms deliver safe, reliable, and sustainable power for remote communities, industrial operations, and critical infrastructure—offering a durable, non-lithium alternative to conventional battery storage. This initiative represents a meaningful shift toward sustainable, self-sufficient energy solutions for Tribal communities. We are honored to be part of this important project! #RenewableEnergy #EnergySovereignty #Microgrid #EnergyIndependence #Harnyss #TribalEnergy #SolarPower #HydrogenEnergy #ThePowerOfHydrogen #GuidivilleIndianRancheria

Last weekend I received an Energy MBA from Texas Christian University, with a focus on renewable energy storage solutions. While some of my colleagues consider winding down their careers, I am energized to contribute further to sustainable energy innovations. The journey for a seasoned professional has many benefits that refresh connections during a retiring network, conversations with thought leaders worldwide, and strengthening my understanding of energy demand in countries and communities, AI and its implications, and distributed energy solutions. ?Energy is not a commodity but the basis of every economy. I am grateful to TCU for this opportunity. Lifelong learning is not just an educational choice, but a lifestyle that keeps us engaged and evolving—no matter the stage of life. Embrace it!
