The Teachers Awards, organised by the Department of Basic Education, is a significant initiative that acknowledges the dedication and creativity of teachers who often work under challenging circumstances. “These awards highlight the importance of quality education in addressing various societal challenges and emphasise the pivotal role that educators play in this regard,” said Dr Mashego Mashego, Executive Director for Harmony Gold. The awards ceremony for the Johannesburg West District Department of Education (DOE) took place on February 14, 2025. The Johannesburg West District emerged as the top-performing district in the country, achieving an impressive 97% pass rate for the second consecutive year (2023-2024). This remarkable achievement is a testament to the hard work and dedication of the educators in the district. #MiningWithPurpose
