The 17th Annual Harlem’s Fashion Row Fashion Show & Style Awards was an unforgettable celebration honoring the trailblazers who continue to push the boundaries of fashion and create space for Black talent to shine. This year, LVMH helped us honor the incredible legacy of Virgil Abloh by presenting the prestigious Virgil Abloh Award Presented by LVMH to the one and only Teyana Taylor. As a trailblazer, creative director, and fashion icon, Teyana represents everything this award stands for—fearless innovation, creativity, and breaking boundaries. In her powerful acceptance speech, Teyana reminded us of her Harlem roots, saying, “From Harlem World to Vogue World, you can take this girl out of Harlem, but you can’t take the Harlem out of this girl.” Her words reflected the essence of what it means to represent and elevate Black culture in the fashion industry. “Getting dressed gave us freedom. It was our imagination.” This honor was made possible by LVMH, whose ongoing commitment to honoring creatives of color and providing platforms for their talent is truly inspiring. A special thank you to Anish Melwani, Gena Smith, and Corey Smith for your support and for ensuring that Virgil’s legacy continues to inspire the next generation of creatives from all backgrounds. Teyana Taylor’s journey is a testament to the power of perseverance, and this award is a reminder that we must continue to push for representation at every level.

The red carpet at the Harlem's Fashion Row 17th Annual Fashion Show & Style Awards was nothing short of legendary. From icons to rising stars, the night was filled with unforgettable moments, stunning fashion, and inspiring words. The red carpet sparkled with the presence of legends like Dapper Dan, Caroline Wanga, Jay Manuel, and BruceGlen, alongside our honorees: Naomi Campbell, Tracee Ellis Ross, and Teyana Taylor. Each of them shared powerful messages about the importance of celebrating Black excellence and creativity in the fashion industry. The event has been hailed as a cultural moment, with Essence noting: "Radical representations of realness were the through line that connected each of the honorees of the evening." Vogue highlighted Naomi Campbell’s words: "You've created a platform that doesn't just showcase talent; you nurture it, you champion it, and you propel it forward." Lena Waithe?introduced the incomparable?Shiona Turini as?Stylist of the Year?at the 17th Annual Fashion Show & Style Awards, and it was a moment to remember. Shiona’s work isn’t just about creating beautiful looks—it’s about using fashion as a medium to tell stories that honor Black culture and elevate Black voices. From her iconic work on?Insecure?to her countless editorial masterpieces, Shiona has reshaped the fashion landscape by bringing authenticity and intention to everything she touches. In her acceptance speech, Shiona reminded us all how vital community is to her journey:?'I am where I am because of Black women. They have kicked down doors, offered me seats at tables, and hired me at my lowest and highest.' Her passion for dressing and collaborating with Black women is at the heart of her work, and she continues to push the industry forward with her creativity and purpose. Shiona, thank you for showing us how fashion can be a vehicle for change. This honor is so well-deserved.

Samira Nasr was honored as?Editor of the Year?at the 17th Annual Fashion Show & Style Awards, with the award presented by the iconic?Tracee Ellis Ross. Samira has made history as the first Black woman to helm?Harper’s Bazaar, and her leadership has transformed how the magazine tells stories, ensuring that Black and Brown voices are represented and celebrated. In her acceptance speech, Samira spoke about the importance of seeing oneself reflected in the world:?'We all look for our names, our likeness, a hint of ourselves, as proof that we matter.' Her work at?Harper’s Bazaar?is a reflection of that mission—to ensure that the stories of Black creatives are forever etched into the cultural record. She has redefined what it means to lead, always pushing for representation in every corner of the industry. Samira, your dedication to amplifying our stories has paved the way for so many, and we are honored to recognize your incredible work.
