Oh, ho it’s lovely weather…for Harken University! Last week, 33 marine industry professionals were in Pewaukee. To commemorate, we ordered up a few hours of driving snow and freezing temperatures! During a break, Alejandra Harris from Sailing Services in Miami looked out the window and saw snow…for the first time in her life! You can’t make this stuff up. Last night, at Harken's "Monday Before METS" Distributor Meeting in Amsterdam, where we meet with many of our most important business partners every year, we enjoyed a panel discussion about the recently concluded 37th America's Cup. The conversation was highlighted by special guest Terry Hutchinson, Skipper and President of Operations for NYYC American Magic. Terry was joined by Zofia Truchanowicz, who is most familiar to us as the Managing Director of Harken Poland. Zofia is also an International Umpire who served umpiring races throughout the Cup cycle in Barcelona. Mark Wiss, Harken's Director of Global Grand Prix and Custom Yacht Sales, added perspective on the evolving technical requirements the teams face and Harken's work to supply these changing needs. The 75-minute experience included time for questions, including an "Ask Terry Anything" segment. We're sailors. This was an incredible 'At The Front' experience.
