PROJECT OF THE MONTH_ H&H led the design engineering team for the historic Broadway Bridge in Portland, OR. The rehabilitation of the 100-year-old double-lead Rall-type bascule bridge, which carries 33,000 vehicles daily, required innovative design solutions to replace worn Rall wheels, tracks, and trunnion shafts while maintaining vehicular and river traffic. Through close collaboration with the contractor, H&H?provided a constructible design solution to replace the aging bridge components and extend the useful life of the bridge.
