  • Happy World Plumbing Day! 💧 For Brian Astle, plumbing isn’t just a job—it’s in his blood. As a 4th generation plumber with 39 years of experience, he has dedicated his career to mastering the trade and advancing the industry. Over the years, Brian has worked on a wide range of projects, gaining hands-on expertise and a deep understanding of the craft. His commitment to plumbing goes beyond the job site—he’s also a proud member of IAPMO, where he recently contributed to the Plumbing Code Change Review for the 2027 edition, helping shape the regulations that protect public health and safety worldwide. Now, Brian has taken his knowledge to the next level, transitioning from the field to a 3D modeler/detailer role. Using Revit and drawing on his tenure in the industry, he helps design and refine plumbing systems, ensuring efficiency and precision in every project. At Harder, we know that great plumbing starts with great people. • It’s Women in Construction Week! 🔨👷♀️ Shannon Sera transitioned into construction from a completely different industry, looking for a career that would challenge her and give her skills no one could take away. Choosing ironwork, Shannon faced a steep learning curve but grew tremendously - overcoming obstacles, mastering her trade, and building confidence every step of the way. Like anyone in a demanding industry, Shannon faced challenges early in her career, but instead of focusing on difficulties, she doubled down on competency and execution. She quickly learned that in construction, respect is earned through skill and results—not identity. By mastering her craft, Shannon proved that technical expertise is the great equalizer. Now, as a project engineer, she bridges the gap between planning and execution, using her hands-on experience to bring real value to her team. Her proudest accomplishment was making the transition from the field into project engineering, applying her firsthand knowledge to complex problem-solving at a higher level. Her advice to anyone entering construction: “Focus on proficiency, execution, and excellence. Master your role, put in the work, and let your results speak for themselves.” From ironwork to project engineering, her journey proves that growth comes from stepping up to challenges and continuously honing your craft. Here’s to all the women pushing boundaries in construction! 👏 #WICWeek #WomenInConstruction #HarderMechanical

  • It’s Women in Construction Week! 🔨👷♀️ For Abarna K., VDC Project Manager, construction wasn’t always on her radar. But when she saw the technology shaping the industry, she knew she wanted in. Now, with over a decade of experience in Virtual Design and Construction, Abarna has made a huge impact, bringing expertise and innovation to every team she works with. She also leads beyond Harder as the Phoenix Regional Lead for Women in BIM, helping drive industry-wide progress. But her passion goes beyond projects—she’s dedicated to empowering others through training. “I’ve been on a mission to make people feel comfortable using different BIM/VDC tools. Even after leaving teams, my ex-colleagues still use my training content.” Like many women in construction, being underestimated has been a constant challenge. But instead of letting that hold her back, she’s changed the conversation. “Taking part in various conversations without tooting my own horn has been how I get around it. The responses start with wide eyes, eventually to then turn into wonderful informative conversations and even cheerleading from my colleagues.” Her advice to other women looking to advance in the industry is to find mentors and sponsors who will lift you up, advocate for you at the table, and help open doors for your growth. Abarna’s journey shows that with passion, perseverance, and support, women in construction can break barriers and pave the way for future generations. She’s not just building projects—she’s shaping the future of the industry. #WICWeek #WomenInConstruction #HarderMechanical

It’s Women in Construction Week! 🔨👷♀️ This week, we’re celebrating the incredible women who make our industry stronger, and today we’re featuring Alice Combier, Senior Project Engineer, who got into construction for the opportunity and challenge—and she’s made her mark. She’s built a career that pushes her to grow, problem-solve, and take on big projects. But being a woman in the industry came with challenges. “In meetings, people would direct questions to my male coworkers, even when I was the best person to answer.” She also felt pressure early on to change how she presented herself, worried that dressing up or wearing makeup might lead to being judged. “Over time, I realized that staying true to myself would take me much further.” Now, Alice is a leader in the field, proving every day that women belong in construction. “The industry is working hard to bring more women in, and there are so many resources available to support our success.” She encourages other women to step in, take up space, and own their expertise. Alice’s story is proof that when women step into construction, they don’t just build projects—they build the future. 💪🔥 #WICWeek #WomenInConstruction #HarderMechanical

It’s Women in Construction Week! 🔨👷♀️ This week, we’re celebrating the incredible women who make our industry stronger, and today we’re featuring Jeannette Lampe, Senior Project Manager in our Architectural Sheet Metal division. Jeanette didn’t just break into the industry—she helped pave the way. She was only the third woman in the state to turn out as a sheet metal worker, battling outdated mindsets and proving she could do the job just as well—if not better. “I can’t even count the number of times I was told to my face, ‘If this job was easy, my wife would do it.’” But she refused to back down. “I knew I could do this job, and I was never one to let what other people say bother me too much.” After dominating the field for years, Jeanette took on an even tougher challenge—transitioning from field work into a leadership role in the office. “It was like learning a new job all over again, and there were no other women in the industry in the same position, so I had no mentors.” She carved her own path while also having to rebuild her work community, and now drives Harder’s Architectural Sheet Metal work forward. Her advice to women looking to join the construction industry? “Never let anyone make you feel like you don’t belong. Things won’t change without you here.” 💪 #WICWeek #WomenInConstruction #HarderMechanical #BuiltToLast
