We braved the cold with 200+ crew members and some BBQ to celebrate our topping out at The Reservoir! This Edgehill project, adjacent to the historic 8th Ave reservoir, is taking shape with 420 units, two pools, two parking garages and stunning downtown skyline views. This project has been a true testament to teamwork, and the stats prove it: ? 10,315 cubic yards of concrete poured ? 608 tons of rebar tied ? 60,684 concrete man-hours logged ? 42,130 framing man-hours put in A huge shoutout to our hardworking team and trade partners—your dedication is what makes this happen. Please join us in congratulating Emory Tischler and Bryce Barnes on their recent promotions! Emory, promoted to General Superintendent, is in his third year at Hardaway and has shown a great work ethic, leadership skills and dedication to the pursuit of excellence that embodies the Hardaway Way. Bryce Barnes is now our Director of Innovation. Bryce has been with us for two years and, since that time, has shown a desire to take on any task with a passion for tech-driven solutions. Our new innovation department is dedicated to integrating cutting-edge tools, streamlining processes, and fostering a culture of continuous improvement for Hardaway. Congrats to both on these amazing achievements!??

The Cherry Oak Apartments are the perfect addition to the East Nashville community?? This development is a four-story building with 96 units. According to the Metropolitan Development and Housing Agency (MDHA), there are 45 subsidized units for current Cayce Place residents, eight new affordable, six workforce and 37 market-rate apartments. Cherry Oak Apartments has market-rate amenities including granite countertops, tile backsplash and patios or balconies. The development also features a computer lounge, playground and green space. We are so thankful to be longtime partners with MDHA and Smith Gee Studio in bringing affordable housing to our community! As 2024 comes to a close, we want to extend our heartfelt gratitude to everyone who has been part of this extraordinary year. Celebrating our 100th anniversary was a milestone we’ll never forget, and it was made even more special by the incredible support of our clients, partners, and employees. Your trust and collaboration have allowed us to uphold the legacy of quality and integrity that Hardaway was built on a century ago. This year was filled with remarkable moments. To name just a few, we proudly broke ground on multiple projects throughout the Southeast, celebrated 7 grand openings with our teams, led the volunteer build of the second-ever permanent Parklet for the Civic Design Center, and were deeply honored to be named 2024 General Contractor of the Year by the Associated General Contractors of TN, Middle Tn Branch. We also celebrated life-changing moments with our employees, including the births of 6 babies, 3 engagements, 1 wedding, and 1 well-deserved retirement. As we reflect on a century of achievements, we are reminded that our success stems from the relationships we’ve built and the shared commitment to excellence that defines Hardaway. Over the years, the AGC has played a vital role in supporting our growth, connecting us with industry peers, and advancing construction standards in Middle Tennessee. We are extremely proud of our longstanding partnership and are looking forward to many more years ahead!

After 40 remarkable years of dedicated service, Sharon Hackett, our beloved office manager, is retiring from Hardaway Construction. Since joining Hardaway in 1984, Sharon has been essential to our success, helping us reach countless milestones and shaping the culture and values that define who we are today. We cannot express enough gratitude for her endless contributions to Hardaway. To honor Sharon’s extraordinary career, we recently surprised her with a retirement party to celebrate her legacy and impact on our team. As a heartfelt tribute, we proudly unveiled the new name of our office café: Sharon’s Place. This space will now serve as a daily reminder of Sharon’s kindness, dedication and positive energy she brought to the office. We recently celebrated the concrete topping out at our 515 Houston St. project with AJ Capital Partners????? To reach this milestone, we poured over 6,000 cubic yards of concrete, installed 400+ embeds, and laid 38,000 linear feet of conduit. We want to offer a huge thank you to our hardworking project team and to the team at Charter Construction for their continued commitment to excellence on our projects. Together, we put in over 35,000 man-hours with zero time-loss incidents. As part of the Wedgewood Village development, this site will soon be home to 109 residential units, 26,735 SF of retail space, a swimming pool, and 15,000 SF of rooftop green space.
