Guess who brought the iconic Star Wars lightsaber to life off the silver screen? None other than Lanny Smoot, Disney’s most prolific Imagineer and their second employee ever inducted into the National Inventors Hall of Fame, right after the legendary Walt Disney himself! We had the pleasure of catching up with Lanny during this year’s NIHF induction ceremony, where he reunited with his Bell Labs colleague, friend, and mentor, James West.
