Wrapping up a very successful week at the largest RV dealer event in North America, the Elkhart Dealer Open House. We teamed up with THOR Industries, Inc. to unveil the world’s first hybrid class A motorhome at the event. Reporters for Car and Driver Magazine, Fox Business Network, MotorTrend Group and The Autopian were the first to experience the hybrid RV in action during the ride and drive event. Harbinger Co-founder and CEO John Henry Harris spoke at THOR Industries’ Investor Day for their annual earnings, detailing the two-way innovation partnership between the companies. As John said this week, “Our collaboration with THOR and their family of companies allows us to help advance the RV sector and lay the groundwork for products that will enhance the RVing experience." I spoke a few weeks ago about the unbeatable supremacy of large format die-casting for lightweight, feature-rich high volume structural elements. In the past, it was common to plan for a full year to develop HPDC components. Now things have changed. These battery enclosures were kicked off only a couple of months ago. The enormous tools were machined, assembled and installed, sample parts were cast, and heat treatment, machining and inspection are now complete. Our battery team is excited to be working at this pace and to one day soon bring the advantages of large-format casting to Harbinger's customers!

Through ATEL Ventures, Inc. we have reached an agreement to provide equipment financing to Harbinger, a Southern California-based manufacturer of electric trucks, which will enable the company to expand its manufacturing capacity. Harbinger is focused on meeting the demand for medium-duty electric vehicles (EVs) with a first-of-its-kind vertically integrated EV platform designed to deliver improvements in safety, driver experience and vehicle operation. More and more commercial fleet operators are turning to EVs, and Harbinger provides a solution with zero price acquisition premium over gas or diesel-powered vehicles. The company has received thousands of orders from customers including Bimbo Bakeries USA, THOR Industries, Inc., Mail Management Services, Inc. and more. The future is electric and while other manufacturers are busy electrifying older vehicles, we believe Harbinger’s ground-up solution will see the company emerge as a leader in this sector.
