The people who have historically bred cannabis are not geneticists. We can only go so far with this anecdotal broscience shit. — If we want to produce the best of the best, we have to partner with geneticists. People who understand the actual science of what we do. People who can map out cannabis DNA. That's what marker-assisted breeding is: Using DNA tests for match-making. — We can use DNA tests and specific markers to better understand our breeding choices and make selections based on literal DNA, not just what we can see, smell, and smoke. If you're stabilizing a genetic, there's only so much you can eyeball. — Most of us growers are not geneticists. But we can work with them. And any breeder claiming they've stabilized anything should have the DNA results to back it up. You can't tell if a seed's feminized by looking at it. It's not possible. Feminized just means it was made with 2x XX parents. Those parents determine the seed size, shape, color, vigor, etc. And none of those traits mean fem or reg. Rant over. — Repost if you agree. If you haven't already...it's time to start thinking about chopping those outdoor plants. Before you do, 3 things to consider: — Where are you going to dry your plants? - Could be the garage, an attic, a spare bedroom, a (large) closet, a bathroom (not in use) How are you going to dry your plants (whole plant hang or branch hang) - Space and climate will dictate decision - Branch hang will typically dry faster than whole plant hang What is your plan for trimming? - Wet Trim as you harvest, de-fanning buds and clipping fan & sugar leaves – Dry Trim once buds have gone through drying process My advice: - Dry somewhere cool, dark and moderate dry - Branch hang unless in very dry climate - Hybrid trim: remove fan leaves while wet, remove rest once dry Have a plan before you start chop.
