in-cosmetics Asia 2024, a leading event in Asia Pacific for personal care ingredients, drew nearly 20,000 visitors (including revisits) in Bangkok Nov. 5-7, 2024, making it the biggest turnout in the show’s history. Boasting 13,103 unique attendees (11% up on 2023), the event also recorded a new high of 43% international visitors. FDA inspectors found issues at Tom’s of Maine's manufacturing factory in Sanford, ME. The news made headlines this morning on major cable and network outlets. Tom's of Maine issued the following statement: "We’re working with the FDA and are remedying the issues raised in their May inspection of the Tom’s toothpaste manufacturing plant in Sanford, Maine. We have always tested finished goods before they leave our control, and we remain fully confident in the safety and quality of the toothpaste we make. In addition, we have engaged water specialists to evaluate our systems at Sanford, have implemented additional safeguards to ensure compliance with FDA standards, and our water testing shows no issues. We are also making capital investments as part of an ongoing, significant upgrade of the Sanford plant’s water system.
