Get the latest facts! There are many valuable insights here that can help credit unions better understand Asian, Native Hawaiian and Pacific Islander communities.
?? The White House Initiative on Asian Americans, Native Hawaiians, and Pacific Islanders, in collaboration with AAPI Data, created a?2024 National Overview of Asian American, Native Hawaiian, and Pacific Islander communities. This much-needed resource?provides timely insights on AA and NHPI population numbers nationally and across states, including on languages spoken and demographic information pertaining to educational attainment, poverty, unemployment, and health insurance coverage. Note: Due to sample size limitations, detailed origin is available only for the six largest Asian groups, and is not available for Native Hawaiian and Pacific Islander groups. ? We encourage you to learn more about our diverse AA and NHPI communities and view the full?fact sheet here: https://lnkd.in/egqyqkd3.

Last week, the White House Initiative on Asian Americans, Native Hawaiians, and Pacific Islanders—in partnership with the White House Office of Public Engagement—made history by hosting the first-ever White House Native Hawaiian and Pacific Islander (NHPI) Convening. Around 100 community leaders, state and local elected officials, and federal appointees joined together to celebrate the cultures and achievements of NHPI communities and hear what the Administration is has been doing to meet their needs. Attendees heard from top leaders in the Biden-Harris administration, including Secretary of the Interior Deb Haaland, U.S. Trade Representative Ambassador Katherine Tai, Federal Emergency Management Agency Administrator Deanne Criswell, National Climate Advisor Ali Zaidi, Office of Management and Budget Deputy Director Nani Coloretti, and Asian American, Native Hawaiian, and Pacific Islander Senior Liaison Erika Moritsugu, WHIAANHPI Executive Director Krystal Ka`ai and Senior Advisor in the White House Office of Public Engagement Kota Mizutani. We even had a special guest appearance from Maia Kealoha who will star as Lilo Pelekai in the upcoming live-action remake of ‘Lilo and Stitch.’ Grateful to all who helped make this inaugural event a success. This one’s for the books! Photography by Albert Ting for the White House Initiative on Asian Americans, Native Hawaiians, and Pacific Islanders.

This day is Native Hawaiian Pacific Islander Equal Pay Day! Let's advocate for better wages for NHPI workers across the country!
Today is NHPI Equal Pay Day. On average, NHPI women earn just 66 cents for every dollar earned by white, non-Hispanic men, but the gap is even wider for many. Learn more about the wage gap: https://bit.ly/3Z24Fqs
