In 1955, Jens Hansen founded J. Hansen Steel Treating Company. In 1973, Jim Balk, one of the company's first employees, purchased the business from Jens and changed the company name to what is now known as Hansen/Balk Steel Treating Company. Since then, Hansen/Balk Steel Treating Company has been committed to serving their customers and taking pride in a quality product.
