Project Spotlight: Wythe Avenue, Brooklyn While we do a lot of local work in Savannah and the surrounding cities, we also have projects in other states, like the Wythe I & II in Williamsburg, New York, developed in collaboration with Flank Architecture. Completed in 2019, these two buildings are a blend of commercial, retail, residential, and office spaces. Notably, they were the first timber structures built in New York City in nearly a century, making them more sustainable and carbon neutral than steel and concrete buildings. Throwback Thursday: 300 West Broughton Street Hansen Architects began working with Ben Carter Enterprises in 2013 on the Broughton Street Collection restoration project. Here are a few throwback photos of 300 Broughton Street before, during, and after the restoration. The work that was completed on this building included replacing windows on the Broughton Street side with historically accurate versions and uncovering window openings on the East side. During the process, a “Maxwell Brothers” sign was discovered on the East elevation, stabilized, and preserved to highlight this piece of the building’s history. The Cove at Dundee Tiny House Community, created to support veterans transitioning out of homelessness, was honored last week with a Blue Star Memorial Marker, a tribute to all who have served in the U.S. Armed Forces. We're proud to have contributed to this impactful project as we remember those who served this Veterans Day. Originally from Cinnaminson, New Jersey, Christina is a magna cum laude graduate of Virginia Tech, where she earned her bachelor's degree in architecture. During her time there, she participated in a study abroad program, traveling to over 11 European countries while exploring architectural history. After graduation, Christina relocated to Savannah to begin her career, and we are excited to have her join us after three years of professional experience. In her free time, Christina is studying for her architectural licensing exams, planning her wedding with her fiancé, Zack, an Associate Designer at Hansen Architects, and relaxing with her two cats, Pooka and Mush.
