Hands in the Community is an easy-to-use, caring, professional source of guidance, advocacy, and access to a comprehensive range of services to the people of Tulare and Kings County. Our client base is low-income people, mainly families, who need help to cope with daily problems, such as their physical, emotional and spiritual needs. We are a volunteer-driven organization that serves those in need. Our objective is to assist people in becoming self-sufficient and, more specifically, to strengthen the ability of individuals and families to care for themselves. We assist with access to services towards improved care and well-being. The majority of those we serve are low-income, children, families, disabled, at-risk youth, and elderly. Since 2009, we've helped over 5,500 families. We Collaborate With over 1,100 volunteers, more than 271 businesses and organizations, and 53 churches we are becoming a “go-to place” for many organization referrals. We strive to collaborate with existing networks, organizations, and agencies to provide the best assistance possible to those in need. Our community partner agencies include but are not limited to the Visalia Rescue Mission, Visalia Emergency Aid Council, Tulare Emergency Aid Council, Family Services of Tulare County, Habitat for Humanity, United Way, Health and Human Services, Veterans Services, District Attorney’s Office, CSET and the Samaritan Center. HNC observes the highest standards of business conduct and respect in our relationships with these partners and the community.

Event Planning https://lnkd.in/g9-q8uvp This position will include preparation and planning of our annual community events include our dinner, golf, BBQ and Sporting Clays. This is part-time and can be done with minimal hours a week and is also available remotely. We are looking for a creative ability to organize and execute events, and your skills in communication, negotiation, and multitasking. “Christmas home visits” Sponsor a senior https://lnkd.in/gQ4rbQf3 We’ve chosen 12 of our seniors that we have helped this year that do not have family in the area or have no family at all. We will be bringing them a Christmas present, Ornaments, Christmas cookies and a Christmas card with a 100$ gift card inside from Grocery Outlet. Our purpose is to share the love of Christ and bring them some Christmas joy. Thank you so much for partnering with us again at Christmas time. May God Bless from all of our staff

We have been completing 40-45 projects each month (previously 20-25 a month) ? We currently have over 75 projects – transportation, yardwork, repairs inside/outside home, plumbing, etc. ? We receive funding through individuals, churches, service clubs and businesses (no funding from federal/state government) ? We do 4 events a year (Dinner, Sporting Clay, Backyard BBQ/Cornhole, and Golf) In order to pay for parts/materials for projects ? We have volunteers in the office, social media, events, and publicity ? We have student interns from local high schools, Jr colleges and universities
