Starting October 1, 2024, the IRS has updated per diem rates for business travel inside and outside the continental U.S. (CONUS). For high-cost localities, the rate is set at $319, while other areas within CONUS are capped at $225. Meal and incidental expenses (M&IE) range from $74 to $86 depending on the travel location. Transportation industry rates are $80 within CONUS and $86 for outside CONUS. Several locality changes have also been made.
