David Hampton and his wife, Brette stopped to snap a selfie with our iconic forest smiley face! The 300-foot-wide smiley was planted in 2011 by crews using a rope to plot the circle and pinpoint the eyes and mouth. Larch trees, whose needles turn golden in the fall before dropping, make the smiley face visible each autumn. Visible from Highway 18, it’s a playful reminder of the thoughtfulness and care that goes into forest management. ???? #HamptonLumber #SustainableForestry #HamptonFamForests
