Low Volume High-Throughput Cell, Gene, and Protein Therapeutic Quality
关于我们
We help our customers reduce development time and improve patient safety by quantifying stability, purity, and quality in protein therapeutics and cell and gene therapy products. Using the latest optics and innovative algorithms, Aura, our flagship product, can analyze and ID sub visible and visible particles, including protein, viral capsid, and cell aggregates. It utilizes a plate-based approach that enables high-throughput (up to 96 samples/run), low-volume (as little as 5 μL) particle analysis in a wide-range of samples from pre-formulation through quality control.

The role of Polysorbate 80 (PS80) in therapeutic protein formulations is a topic of ongoing debate, particularly its impact on protein stability. A study published in the Journal of Pharmaceutical Sciences?explored this by investigating the effect of partly hydrolyzed PS80 on protein stability under various stress conditions. While several analytical methods were used, Halo Labs’ technique was found to be particularly effective. Our Aura system, coupled with Backgrounded Membrane Imaging (BMI), simplified the detection and distinction of degraded components in protein-based samples during any point in the drug production process.? A recent study examined the impact of polysorbates on protein aggregation during IV-bag dilution to determine if changes in surface tension could predict surfactant formulation requirements for end-to-end stability. Researchers employed various techniques, including Halo’s backgrounded membrane imaging (BMI) to thoroughly characterize aggregation. Read our blog post to learn more about the study and why we need to gain a deeper understanding of protein behavior as we strive to design drugs that maintain their safety and effectiveness throughout their lifecycle.? ? https://lnkd.in/gB83CnH4?? ? #biologics #proteinaggregation #formulation

Screening approaches for evaluating development risks in biological therapeutics, like mAbs, are complex yet crucial. Early assessments can save time and money by identifying potential issues impacting the end goal: a stable drug product. A case study of four IgG1 mAbs, published in Pharmaceutical Development & Technology, demonstrated that comprehensive assessments are beneficial in spotting development options for molecules with challenging stability trends. New technologies such as Aura’s Backgrounded Membrane Imaging (BMI) are recommended for an accurate assessment of subvisible particle counts, enhancing physical stability assessment.?
