I saw this posted somewhere else today. Life is crazy the messages you get when you are calm enough to listen. What do you want? Are you settling? Think about what you deserve. It’s probably so much more than you think.

The brutal truth: Others control your career progress! ? Take back control with this framework: ? ?? Shocking truth: Right now, somewhere... Your name is being mentioned in a meeting. But who's fighting in your corner? ?? The painful reality: ? Some spread doubt behind closed doors ? Others demolish reputations in silence ? While few... fight fiercely for your success The difference? ? It's not your talent. ? It's who speaks up for you when you aren't there. Here's how to build an army of career defenders: 1. Become worth fighting for ? Deliver work that makes others look brilliant ? Be the colleague everyone wants on their team 2. Turn leaders into loyal advocates ? Make your wins visible (but credit your supporters) ? Solve problems that keep your bosses awake 3. Build your high-level support network ? Connect with seniors two levels above you ? Give them reasons to remember your name 4. Create trust that echoes ? Champion others first (especially in their absence) ? Build a reputation that speaks before you enter a room ?? The brutal truth: - In every senior meeting... - In every promotion discussion... - In every project assignment... ?? Someone is either: ? Championing your potential ? Or letting silence kill your chances ?? Your reputation travels without you ?? Make sure it has powerful allies carrying it. What's the most powerful way someone has advocated for you when you weren't in the room? ?? Please repost to help others in your network on how to defend their careers. And follow Eva Gysling, OLY, for more insights on leadership, resilience, culture, interprofessional collaboration, and burnout prevention!

Thank you to NCWE for the opportunity to share our story over the past two days. This was our first time participating, and we are looking forward to returning in the future. It was fun to present with Mindie Boynton. Last slot of the conference but still lots of great energy and audience participation. #workforcematters

Very thought provoking. I think sleep is important. But so is knowing your natural productivity cycle. For example- I am not a morning person. Never have been. My productivity soars around 10 am and wanes after 8 pm. How do you find your best productivity cycle while working in the “normal” daily cycle?
Never underestimate the value of a good night’s rest. Here’s why Arianna Huffington says sleep is the key to success — in every career: https://t.ted.com/E57Q3hM

This was very insightful! When I think about burnout and people feeling undervalued in the workplace, this gives it another lens to look through. This concept is similar to a discussion I was recently in around selfless versus selfish people on your work team. Quite interesting to ponder. And I’m wondering how/or if this has changed post pandemic. Or is it generational? Or is it just a people-in-general thing? I’d love to hear your thoughts!

Taking the day to celebrate our country and this great experiment of personal freedoms. We certainly are not perfect and continue to be tested in ways our founding father's likely never imagined. But proud to be an American every day. #july4 #americanpride
