Do you have a gas furnace in your home? If so, you have the potential to have carbon monoxide (CO) introduced into your home via the heat exchanger. The heat exchanger in your furnace is a set of metal coils that gets warmed directly by combustion gas and fire. So, it spends a lot of time heating up and cooling down, causing the metal to expand and contract. This constant expanding and contracting can lead to cracks. When a heat exchanger cracks, it allows harmful exhaust from your furnace (including CO) to mix with the air circulating throughout your home. Oftentimes, there is no way of knowing from the outside if you have a crack in your heat exchanger. The best way to determine this and keep you and your family safe is by having regular HVAC system maintenance performed annually by a trained technician. Contact Haller today to schedule your HVAC system maintenance! It could potentially save your life! https://lnkd.in/eETpEgig #carbonmonoxide #carbonmonoxideawareness #hvac

It might not seem like your dryer has anything to do with carbon monoxide poisoning. But, if your home has a gas dryer, the lint and debris that collects in the filter and vent piping could raise the risk of carbon monoxide leaking into your home. It's common knowledge to keep the filter cleaned. But it's just as important to keep the dryer vent cleaned. Overtime, debris can build up in the piping; and if your vent is at ground level, small animals like birds ?? and squirrels ??? can even get stuck in the piping and cause a blockage! In the event of a blockage, the carbon monoxide produced in the machine has nowhere to go. Instead of being safely filtered away in the vent, it’s forced out into your living space. Thankfully, we can help with this! Contact Haller today to schedule your dryer vent cleaning! It could potentially save your life! https://lnkd.in/eETpEgig #carbonmonoxide #carbonmonoxideawareness

Where does carbon monoxide (CO) come from and how does it enter your home? As a general rule, any home appliance or piece of equipment that burns wood, propane, natural gas, oil, charcoal or coal is potentially a source of CO in your home. To prevent CO leaks or accidents of a similar nature, it’s best to get a professional inspection of these appliances annually to ensure they are operating correctly. We also recommend using these appliances and pieces of equipment only as directed by the manufacturer (for instance, never use your backup generator indoors!). Contact Haller today to schedule your boiler, furnace, water heater, or backup generator service! It could potentially save your life! https://lnkd.in/eETpEgig #carbonmonoxide #carbonmonoxideawareness

What's the difference between Standard UL-Rated Carbon Monoxide (CO) Detectors and Low-Level Carbon Monoxide (CO) Monitors? Both are capable of detecting CO, but a low-level monitor detects CO at all levels and alerts you before CO poisoning symptoms even start, giving you more time to react and get to safety. Contact Haller today to learn how we can help mitigate your risk of carbon monoxide poisoning in your home. https://lnkd.in/eETpEgig #carbonmonoxide #healthyhome #carbonmonoxideawareness
