Photo Friday – Overwatch “Every job is a self-portrait of the person who did it. Autograph your work with excellence.” – Jessica Guidobono One of the most important components to a successful job is the implementation of a strong supervisor. The supervisor is responsible for managing many facets of the jobsite as well as generating solutions when faced with unforeseen obstacles. A truly skilled supervisor has the ability to keep crews both motivated and informed with ongoing jobsite tasks, maintain steady workflow and meet deadlines, and has the confidence to make adaptations to plans when necessary. We are very fortunate to have a multitude of supervisors on board with us that fit this skillset extremely well. Having dedicated employees who are willing to not only work but also learn the ins and outs of the trade is invaluable to our operations. #Hallaton #IAGI #Geosynthetics #Landfill #Geomembranes #WeGotYouCovered

Photo Friday – Little By Little This closure project includes ten million sq ft of LLDPE and geotextile. We have completed roughly 175 acres out of the approximately 230-acre project, including a settling basin adjacent to the closure (right). Projects of this volume require a great deal of communication as well as a solid work-plan in order to have efficient deployment and meet deadlines. Looking forward to wrapping up yet another successful job! Have a great weekend. #Hallaton #IAGI #Closure #Geosynthetics #Landfill #Containment #WeGotYouCovered

Photo Friday – Tools of the Trade “If the wedge isn’t running, we aren’t making progress” - Todd Harman We often joke about this concept at the office, if we don’t have equipment actively performing welds or seams during deployment, we are not progressing with the site work. While this is not always the case considering that we have to perform other tasks such as detail work, it is primarily true. Seeing our wedges in as much use as possible is an excellent indicator that we are deploying material effectively and making progress each day we have crews on site! #Hallaton #IAGI #Gyeosynthetics #Landfill #Containment #WeGotYouCovered

Here is a project spotlight for the Fabricated Geomembrane Institute (FGI) that we put together for a recent wastewater treatment lagoon we completed. Check out the full article below!
FGI Project Spotlight: Artesian Resources Treated Wastewater Holding Lagoon This project consists of lining a 3-million-gallon treated wastewater holding lagoon for the Artesian Wastewater Treatment Plant (Artesian) in Milton, Delaware. This lagoon was installed adjacent to an existing 90-million-gallon wastewater lagoon and acts as an additional buffer for contaminants. The new lagoon features a screening station and lift pump to divert the wastewater from the new, smaller lagoon into the larger, existing 90-million-gallon lagoon. Having a lined lagoon is imperative to the treatment plant because it ensures that wastewater cannot permeate into the shallow groundwater and contaminate the surrounding area. Lining this lagoon with a geomembrane creates a secure container for the wastewater after it is treated but before it can be moved to a final holding location. More in full article..... Photo Friday – Top Of The Bay Here is an installation shot from a landfill located at the top of the Chesapeake Bay in North East, Maryland. In the background, you can see the North East River flowing into the Chesapeake. We take pride in every project; however, it makes us especially proud when we can provide quality work for our community and help do our part to “Save The Bay”. This site consists of geosynthetic clay liner (GCL), geotextile, and 60-mil HDPE geomembrane. You can see a crew deploying the GCL over a compacted clay base layer on the left, followed by the 60-mil HDPE on the right. The staging of materials certainly expedites the installation process and allows our crews to make the most of their time onsite. Next up, 32-oz nonwoven geotextile as the final layer. The materials for this project are supplied by AGRU America, Inc., earthwork performed by Kinsley Construction, and design/oversight by Barton & Loguidice. Have a great weekend! #SaveTheBay #ProtectThisHouse #Hallaton #IAGI #Landfill #Geosynthetics #Containment #WeGotYouCovered

Photo Friday – Limited Access Here is a shot of some geocomposite being deployed on a landfill slope in Pennsylvania. Although the access road provided some constraints due to its narrow parameters, this crew managed to deploy the material and looked good doing it! Hard hats off to you guys (not literally)! Have a great weekend! #Hallaton #IAGI #Geosynthetics #Landfill #SolidWaste #WeGotYouCovered

Photo Friday – “Mise En Place” – All Things In Their Place Geomembrane deployment is underway for this 15.5-acre landfill cell consisting of a 5-layer system: 60 mil HDPE (primary and secondary), geocomposite, geosynthetic clay liner (GCL), and geotextile. With colder temperatures just around the corner, we are making as much ground coverage as possible while the weather permits. We are fortunate to work alongside Republic Services, who provide a strong, focused teamwork environment, as well as operators at Kinsley Construction, who provide consistent, uniform subgrade preparation to facilitate a timely material deployment speed on our end. #Hallaton #IAGI #FGI #Geosynthetics #Landfill #WeGotYouCovered

Photo Friday – Incognito Mode This is an extremely unique project that we have been working on just outside of our home city, Baltimore, MD. These are two of the underground storage tanks that house a portion of the drinking water for Baltimore City, which you can see in the background. We are thrilled to be involved in such a monumental project that helps to accommodate the nearly 600,000 city residents behind it. Additionally, our MD office is located on the Gunpowder River, which is one of the direct tributaries into these tanks. It is rewarding to see our efforts come full-circle, and we are fortunate to have been able to assist with this project. Finally, you can see the piling structures on top of the nearest tank, which will eventually be covered with topsoil and converted into a full-size football field for local sports teams! #Hallaton #Baltimore #Containment #Geosynthetics #WeGotYouCovered

Photo Friday – Bring Out the Big Guns We participated in the Baltimore Area Council 11th Annual Sporting Clays Classic in Queenstown, MD yesterday. This event was hosted at The Point at Pintail by Scouting America, featuring a multi-station sporting clay shoot as well as auction and raffle events to support the Scouts. We had a blast, pun intended. Aim small, miss small! #Hallaton #BSA #SportingClays #BenelliUSA #SharpShooter
