Congratulations to Firefighter Tad Davidson on completing the 24-hour GA Spartan course! This course is a mental and physical test for firefighters looking to improve their skills on the fire scene. At approximately 1:00 p.m., yesterday, HCFR responded to Sweet Acres Winery in Alto for reports of a commercial fire. B-Shift crews arrived on scene and began to extinguish the flames defensively. Due to the lack of water access, engine crews continuously shuttled water to the scene until it was contained. A big thanks to Habersham Fire Department for utilizing their tanker which provided about 3000 gallons of additional water. The building was empty prior to our arrival and no personnel were injured on scene. The cause of the fire is unknown and the Hall County Fire Marshal’s Office is investigating. ###
