It’s time for another "Meet the Team Monday" where we shine a spotlight on one of our amazing team members here at Halfacre Construction. This week, we’re excited to introduce you to Andrew Trudeau, Project Manager. Andrew joined our team with over 20 years of industry knowledge and expertise. Before joining Halfacre Construction, Andrew previously owned his own construction company from 2000 - 2023. He oversees projects from start to finish and develops schedules and budgets to ensure on-time delivery. He also assists with cost estimating during preconstruction and provides value engineering services throughout each project he is tasked with. We are honored to have Andrew as part of our growing team, and would like to thank him for the amazing work he has achieved over the past year. We look forward to his continuous growth within our organization.

Halfacre Construction Company was a proud Court Sponsor of the 2nd Annual Sarasota Sailors Slam Pickleball Tournament on Nov. 16 at Pompano Park. This event helped raise funds for necessary equipment and coaching for the Sarasota High School student athletes and tennis team and a portion of the proceeds went to All Faiths Food Bank to help support storm victims. We would like to thank the SHS Tennis Foundation Inc. for their amazing efforts to help foster sportsmanship and teamwork among the talented youth in our community.

Earlier this month, Halfacre Construction team members attended the Gulf Coast Builders Exchange (GCBX) Fall Golf Tournament at Palm Aire Country Club of Sarasota. This fun-filled event welcomed golfers in the area to a BBQ lunch buffet, a day of golfing, which included chipping and putting contests, raffle prizes and an awards dinner. Our team had an amazing time interacting with other participants and networking with local organizations. A big thank you to Gulf Coast Builders Exchange for another fun and successful event.

On Friday, Nov. 15, the Sarasota County Sheriff's Office Charitable Foundation, Inc. held its annual Sporting Clays event. Halfacre was a proud Corporate Sharpshooter sponsor for the event, and our team members enjoyed a fun and challenging day of sporting clays shooting, followed by lunch and an awards ceremony. We are honored to be able to contribute to this foundation, whose mission is to assist individual employees of the Sarasota County Sheriff’s Office who are experiencing extraordinary personal or family needs.

We are kicking off our “Meet the Team Monday” with Dean Crowley, Senior Project Manager at Halfacre Construction Company. Dean has a bachelor of science in building construction from the University of Florida and brings over 32 years of experience with new construction and renovations. He is an expert at developing and implementing effective project management plans while managing all aspects of the project — from design and permitting to construction and completion. We would like to thank Dean for the incredible contributions he has made to Halfacre Construction for the past 5 years and look forward to the future!?

Last Friday, Halfacre Construction was a proud sponsor of the State College of Florida Foundation Inc. Scholarship Luncheon. Several Halfacre team members attended this annual event to honor SCF scholarship recipients and supporters. During the event, attendees heard from this year’s recipient, Brittany DeMars, who is pursuing her dreams as a nursing student thanks to the generous community of donors. Tommy Gregory, SCF President, also spoke about the success of other students who have graduated from SCF, 5 of which were SCF Manatee baseball players that were drafted into the MLB. Our team also enjoyed contributing to the paddle raise event that raised additional funds to support this amazing foundation and their mission.

We’re thrilled to announce Halfacre Construction Company recently completed construction on the new Big Brothers Big Sisters of the Sun Coast (BBBSSC) building in Sarasota, Florida. This 9,000-square-foot space includes tailored workstations, a mentor center, lounges, various meeting rooms and more. Halfacre Construction Company is pleased to share an exciting project update for our work at Urban Air Adventure Parks, a new 60,000-square-foot adventure park coming to the Lakewood Ranch community. On site, we recently poured the foundation and will soon be pouring the concrete slab. Following that, we will begin constructing the concrete tilt wall panels. Slated to open in the third quarter of 2025, Urban Air will feature trampolines and various attractions, including the SkyRider, indoor slide park, air court sports court, warrior course, adventure hub playground, Leap of Faith, Battle Beam, dodgeball, Spin/Flip Zone, virtual reality area, party rooms, Urban Café and more.
