Another HD Expo complete. It was great to reconnect with old friends, while also having the pleasure of meeting some new people at HD Expo 2024. It brings us great pleasure that our new Jobsite Inventory Management System (JIMS) APP was well received by everyone, and the interest in the hotel products that we offer for hotel renovations was great also. Once this mess is cleaned up and renovation complete, I get to make an announcement to tenants…… I’ll tell them that their rent is going DOWN Old hotels have many people living in them. These people fell on hard times and pay by the week. I’ve got properties where weekly tenants have lived there for years! $250-$300/week ($1200/month) is often more than they would pay for a 1 bedroom on a 12 month lease. Ofcourse as a hotel room, utilities are included and the deposit is only $50. People who have a strong payment history with us can qualify to move into a remodeled apartment unit with a brand new bathroom and kitchen…..and pay market rate for that new unit….not a weekly rate…..which will result in their monthly housing expense falling! Sometimes by as much as 30% How else can we cut someone’s housing cost by 30% without requiring them to go back to school, work more hours, or depend on a government subsidy…..I think hotel conversion is the only way.
