Vice President of Education, Labor and Economy Alex McClung?spoke at the Education Writers Association?2024 National Seminar in Las Vegas sharing insights on "what's hot and not" in the education space. From book bans to thoughts on #AI and its impact on #edtech, there sure was a lot to say at #EWA24. Here’s some of our favorites from Alex: ? ?????Twitter - "I would say it is not a reliable source anymore. There's so much misinformation, and it's really toxic right now. Your organization should only use it as a link farm to drive traffic to your website." ? ???Assessments - "In the context of when we're talking about university requirements, high school graduates, and whether or not assessments will be a part of college application, I think we saw a lot of the Ivy League's kind of go away from that, and then come back to it as part of their application process. I think it continues to be a topic we'll see in the headlines in the months ahead." ? ?????Science of Reading - "To me, the science of reading is sort of an esoteric topic. It's discussed really in these rooms, doesn't really make it outside of these spaces." ? ???Podcasts - “I think pitching podcasts is an important part of an earned media strategy. If you have a charismatic leader or spokesperson at your organization, especially one who can do a really great job of context setting and telling your organization's story, podcasts are a great opportunity to help explain what your?mission is and why it's important."

Members of Hager Sharp's Community Impact Team spent Tuesday afternoon with Capital Area Food Bank. Our team delivered a donation on behalf of our firm, and together, they helped package 130 boxes that will feed 430 seniors in the DMV! While there, we spotted our past branding and design work for their mobile grocery truck, Curbside Groceries.
