For those of you who saw my earlier post, Stuart Larson's article sums up why we pulled together the Utah Talent Forum and some of our learnings. When I joined Bridgestone in Nashville 10 years ago, we were hiring executives at a rapid clip--most from outside the state. Nashville was a very desirable landing spot--fueled by positive national press as an "It City." Soon after arriving, the city attracted major players Amazon, Google, Bernstein, among others. Fast-forward to today and real estate has climbed to astronomical heights, the road and highway system is stressed, and city governments struggle to build infrastructure and schools to meet the demand. Utah is seeing similar growth, but as Stu's article highlights, finding high-quality senior talent to Utah remains a challenge. Has Nashville retained its "it city" draw for executive talent? #amazon #nashville #bridgestone #bernstein #google #congestion #talentacquisition
Bringing great senior-level talent to Utah can be challenging. Last week, I co-hosted a group of insightful senior leaders and Governor Spencer Cox in an excellent dialogue around strategies to address these challenges. This article summarizes what I'm taking away from the event. A huge thanks to our great panel of Utah CEOs, Steve Vaughan, Vivien Bohme, Jessica Klodnicki, and Sterling Nielsen, and, to gov. Spencer Cox for engaging in this dialogue! And, thanks again to my co-hosts Ed Stanworth, Landon Pitcher, and Freddie Ashby.
Attracting Talent to a Unique Culture Can Be Challenging - But Not Impossible.

Fantastic day at the Utah Talent Forum. Hadrian Executive Search was a proud sponsor with Listo Global and Ferron Creek LLC--your partnership was KEY! Governor Cox and our CEO panel were excellent! Clearly Utah is wrestling with its growth and ability to attract high-grade talents from outside the state. Nonetheless, many organizations are making concerted efforts to recruit the right players. Great discussion among the attendees---Brandon Fugal?sparked a great dialogue about the effectiveness of hybrid work and Vivien Bohme?laid out data about day time mall traffic---pretty eye opening! Thank you to Spencer Cox,?Jessica Klodnicki,?Vivien Bohme,?Steve Vaughan, and?Sterling Nielsen?for your insightful comments!

Many of you are familiar with Sage Executive Coaches, LLC and Taylor Flake CPC. Taylor writes an insightful #Leadershiplessonsfromtheland article just about every month--here's an example: https://lnkd.in/eAYVeXcg. Last Saturday, he invited me down to Mona, UT to ride. It was a blast getting out in the snow and seeing the beautiful setting from where a lot of his posts originate. More importantly, it's clear there's much to be gleaned about #leadership, #learning, and #teamwork when you're out on a ride. Thank you Taylor for a great day!

To my Utah network---looking forward to meeting up in February!
Excited to be hosting Utah's Governor Cox at our upcoming Talent Forum. We'll be discussing the Talent challenges facing the State of Utah and our panel of CEOs will highlight how their organizations attract, develop, and retain talent--especially talent from outside the state. I'd be interested to know the challenges your organization has faced in relocating talent from other geographies. #SpencerCox #FerronCreek #ListoGlobal #HadrianExecutiveSearch
