? Looking back on an incredible weekend at HackHers 2024 hosted by Girls Who Code! Two weeks ago, I had the opportunity to work alongside some truly talented teammates— Anna Harvey, Mariam Omer, Zoha Khundmiri, and Fernanda Tecocoatzi-Cisneros —on a project that brought together tech, creativity, and a passion for empowering women in their everyday lives. ?? Our project, SuitYourself, was all about creating a digital closet experience with a personal touch. Designed in Figma, we developed wireframes and a prototype to show how our app could work as a virtual stylist and organizer. The Fashion Diva Chatbox, trained using the OpenAI API, acts as a virtual stylist to curate outfits, while Google Cloud Vision helps with organizing items into collections. SuitYourself also connects to the Google Calendar, letting users plan their looks for the week and leverage the Clue API to provide tailored recommendations based on the user’s cycle. And with the Weather App API, it’s ready to suggest looks based on the daily forecast. This experience highlighted how innovative tech solutions can intersect with fashion to make a real difference for women. A huge thanks to my amazing team and the HackHers community for this unforgettable experience! Here’s to more projects that inspire and empower! ???? ? ?? Reflecting back on my incredible experience at Girls Who Code at Georgia State all-women's hackathon, HackHers! ?? Our team embarked on the development of SuitYourself, an app designed as the ultimate digital closet. From syncing outfits with weather forecasts to personalizing based on the menstrual cycle and daily schedules through Google Calendar. SuitYourself is shaping up to be a true game-changer! We’re leveraging Weather APIs, Google Cloud Vision, OpenAI, and even the Menstrual Cycle API to make this happen. Here’s a sneak peek at our Figma prototype! https://lnkd.in/epSek2rN I had an amazing time and learned so much, especially at the Google Cloud Platform session and connecting with professionals from Google, UKG, and Intuit! Huge thanks to everyone who made HackHers possible. Excited to keep building on this project and working with such a talented team, ?Anna Harvey, Zoha Khundmiri, Jennifer Phan, Fernanda Tecocoatzi-Cisneros ?? #HackHers #DigitalCloset #WomenInTech #SuitYourself #Hackathon #GoogleCloud

I recently had the amazing opportunity to participate in HackHers hosted by Girls Who Code at Georgia State and the experience was unforgettable and truly inspiring. Our project, Suit Yourself, aimed to empower women by acting as a personal wardrobe assistant. Using AI, we integrated weather data, menstrual cycle tracking, Google Calendar, and Google Cloud Vision to recommend outfits tailored to each user’s unique needs and schedule. We wanted to help women feel confident and comfortable, no matter the day or the demands. We also brought this vision to life on Figma, creating an intuitive and user-friendly design to enhance the app experience. (Check out our Figma design here: https://lnkd.in/epSek2rN). Big shoutout to my teammates, Zoha Khundmiri, Mariam Omer, Fernanda Tecocoatzi-Cisneros, and Jennifer Phan for the dedication and creativity! This hackathon showed me the power of collaboration and the impact we can make through tech. Looking forward to the next challenge! #Hackathon #WomenInTech #AI #Empowerment #TechForGood

?Excited to share my experience at my first hackathon this past weekend HackHers with GirlsWhoCode at GSU. The challenge was to develop an app addressing the issues women face, and my incredible team ( Abrielle Jasmin, Jayla Lay, Abigail Coley, and Shalom Obed ) created a solution focused on enhancing women’s mental well-being. I’m truly grateful for the mentorship and guidance we received from the judges, and for the amazing connections I made along the way. This experience was a fantastic opportunity for growth, and I can’t wait to apply what I learned in the next hackathon! #Hackathon #MentalWellbeing #WomenEmpowerment #GSU #WomenInTech

?? ?? Excited to share that our team won 1st place for Best Use of Raspberry Pi at HackHers 2024, organized by Girls Who Code at Georgia State and WIT GSU! ?? Our project, Feminomics (https://lnkd.in/emrAUFy6) is an engaging platform designed to enhance financial literacy. Upon opening the website, users can play our demo game, which creatively illustrates the importance and risks of financial choices, making learning both fun and interactive. The demo is also accessible through our app. Additionally, we've developed a budget planner that helps users input their monthly income, necessities, and debt to calculate optimal savings based on their goals. To further support users, we've integrated a chatbot linked to our Raspberry Pi hardware, providing instant answers to finance-related questions. feminomics combines fun, functionality, and education, empowering users to take control of their financial futures! The experience at HackHers was truly inspiring, filled with creativity and collaboration from all participants. A huge thank you to my fantastic teammates for their dedication and hard work, Michelle Duong, Rebekah Aung, Madison Gibbons, and Aman Odoffin—this achievement wouldn’t have been possible without you! Also, a special shoutout to our mentors, Facundo Figueroa, Saraswathi K., and Abbaas Alif Mohamed Nishar for their guidance and support throughout the event. The energy and community spirit made HackHers an unforgettable experience. I’m so grateful to be part of such a talented group and can’t wait to see what we all accomplish next! ???? #HackHers2024 #GirlsWhoCode #RaspberryPi #TeamSuccess #feminomics #1stPlace

This past weekend, I’m proud to share that my team placed third in the Overall Best Solution Category at HackHers by Girls Who Code at Georgia State!?? ?Working with Adila Biswas and Ramita Rathore, we created Girl Dinner, a plugin concept that enables domestic abuse victims to seek help discreetly. It allows users to appear as though they’re placing a food order, while quietly alerting authorities if needed—a subtle and effective way for victims to connect with emergency help. https://lnkd.in/ejnkSMg9 This experience was amazing! I gained so much valuable advice and made some incredible connections. Huge thanks to all the mentors, judges, and organizers who gave amazing advice and made this event possible !

Proud to announce that our team placed second in the Overall Best Solution category at HackHers 2024, organized by Girls Who Code at Georgia State and WIT GSU! ?? The event was packed with insightful workshops, hands-on mentorship, and a vibrant community that inspired us every step of the way. From attending the Google Frontend Workshop and learning how to use React to building our project, BiasBreakers, the experience was truly empowering. Our project, BiasBreakers (https://lnkd.in/ennFkHmw), is an interactive game designed to help users recognize and respond to workplace biases. Through real-life scenarios and multiple-choice options, users can tackle issues such as pay disparity, microaggressions, workplace harassment, and bias in leadership roles. By highlighting these challenges, we aim to equip people with tools for allyship and advocacy in any work environment. Big thanks to my incredible teammates—Evelyn Nguyen , Jinying Xie, Yateeka Goyal, and Linn Erle K.—for the teamwork and commitment that made this project possible. Also, a huge shoutout to the organizers, mentors, and judges who made this event unforgettable. Here’s to breaking biases together! ?? #HackHers #BiasBreakers #DiversityAndInclusion #GirlsWhoCode #WIT #WomenInTech #WorkplaceEquality #Empowerment #Hackathon
