关于我们
What can our work make possible? We are a studio of 50+ united by a desire to create spaces that enrich the world – spaces that make us feel more connected to the landscape, each other and ourselves. We believe that architecture is best when it’s an honest expression of the people and institutions it serves, when it interacts dynamically with its surroundings, makes humble use of the earth’s resources, and has an understated dignity based on carefully crafted construction and the natural beauty of materials. More than a craft or practice, we see architecture as a calling to create beauty and serve humanity, requiring from each of us our deepest listening, questioning, curiosity and engagement. #27 firm in the nation, ARCHITECT magazine, 2018

Take a look behind the scenes photographing?Logan Library?with Lara Swimmer?this week! Located in Logan, Utah, the 35,000 square-foot, 3-story public library prioritizes connections to the surrounding landscape with two outdoor terraces and abundant views out. In particular, the way the library’s design frames the surrounding town and brings the mountains into the space is spectacular. Designed for universal access, maximum flexibility, and operational efficiency, stay tuned for more updates from?#LoganLibrary??? Yesterday, we stepped away from our screens and routines to tour three incredible Hacker projects: the City of Salem Public Works, the Salem Public Library (next to the Salem Civic Center renovation starting soon), and the Colonel Nesmith Readiness Center. Along the way, we connected with one another, sharing stories, laughs, and experiences. We started and ended the day reflecting on the question: ‘What inspires us?’ What inspires you? Wood Studies | The design team for the Hellems Arts and Sciences Building and Mary Rippon Theatre Capital Renewal Project at University of Colorado Boulder approached campus design principles by integrating a regionally inspired material palette and emphasizing the use of #wood throughout the building. One of their core strategies was to honor the historic charm of the Charles Klauder buildings (1922 & 1938) while modernizing them to meet contemporary needs. In line with the project's foundational design principle of 'peeling back the layers' of the historic structure, the design team also focused on employing authentic, regionally inspired materials. Walnut paneling and trim, drawing from the hues and textures found in the bark of local tree species and the existing wood finishes of the building, are prominently featured throughout. The broader interior material palette extends these regional influences, fostering an environment that resonates with the natural allure of the surrounding landscape, all while paying homage to the enduring legacy of the original architecture. — Scroll for a look at the CU Boulder #renovation?project now underway: 1.
