Habitat for Humanity of Metro Denver builds and sells homes to hard-working families in need of decent and affordable housing. An affiliate of Habitat for Humanity International, Habitat Denver is one branch of a global, nonprofit housing organization that seeks to put God’s love into action by building homes, communities and hope. Habitat was founded on the conviction that everyone deserves a simple, durable place to live in dignity and safety, and that decent shelter in decent communities should be a matter of conscience and action for all. With the support and partnership of corporations, faith groups, sponsors, volunteers and hard-working families, Habitat for Humanity has served more than 600 families throughout our 41-year history in Denver. The Habitat Denver office and ReStore locations employ more than 100 individuals, partner with thousands of volunteers each year, and serve a vast number of families in our community and around the world through advocacy, partnerships and events. Homes, communities, relationships, hope. Together, at Habitat, we build.

Our team had Coffee at the Capitol last week to advocate for affordable homeownership! ??In a market like Metro Denver's, owning a home is becoming a luxury, so advocating for affordable homeownership is pivotal in our work. We believe everyone should be able to afford to purchase a home in the community where they live and work. One example of a policy we're supporting is Colorado's SB25-006, which would allow the state treasury to invest $50 million in affordable homes for sale to income-restricted buyers, making homeownership more accessible to many more families.?

Our advocacy efforts have?led to increased funding for affordable homes in Metro Denver and across Colorado. Today, we continue to raise our voices for affordable homeownership supply. We are meeting with our representatives?on Capitol Hill as part of #HabitatontheHill, asking them to support?policy solutions that increase the supply of affordable homes in our communities.?
