As our housing crisis continues to intensify, we believe it is crucial to build and sustain capacity in our organization to address the critical needs of our communities today and for many years to come. Consistent monthly support ensures we have a solid foundation for our operations. Our goal is to add 75 monthly-giving members by March 31, 2025 to grow our ability to create a greater impact. For the cost of a $5 coffee, a $25 Netflix subscription, or a $50 night out each month, you can make an ongoing investment towards housing stability in your neighborhood. Would you be willing to make a monthly commitment to help families build strength, stability and self-reliance through shelter? If you are already giving monthly, thank you! Would you consider increasing your monthly giving amount? Please let us know and we’d love to speak with you. Lastly, would you be willing to forward this message to five people you know? Our impact grows as our community of partners grows. Help us bring more people together to build homes, communities and hope! Please join us by setting up your monthly donation through our online donation form. Thank you for your investment! https://lnkd.in/e-NWWtYw With gratitude, Steven Li Executive Director Habitat for Humanity of Snohomish County

Everyone deserves a decent and affordable place to live.
关于我们
Habitat for Humanity of Snohomish County works to eliminate substandard housing and break the cycle of poverty by partnering with low-income families in the community. Through mentorship, training and volunteer 'sweat equity', our partner families are empowered to purchase these homes through the provision of low-interest mortgages. Habitat Snohomish employs a small staff and is operated almost entirely by volunteer labor in three main areas: construction, Stores and administrative work. Volunteers work with us for a variety of reasons; examples include people looking for work experience and unemployed folks, retirees looking to give back, corporate groups volunteering to enhance morale, students building resumes and families spending time together.

A quick but impactful read by Habitat Snohomish Executive Director - Steven Li. Thank you to our dedicated community of volunteers, staff, and supporters who made this moment a reality!
As a former Realtor, I always enjoyed handing a client the keys to their new home. Handing the keys to our newest Habitat homebuyers last week was different. This was the culmination of many months of staff and volunteer labor, community investment and support, along with the blood, sweat and tears of our homebuyers manifesting into a moment where this family received keys that would open doors to opportunities that had previously been pushed out of reach for them. Through those front doors, this family will no longer have to worry about being economically evicted by an out-of-control rental market. They will be paying a stable and affordable mortgage for the foreseeable future while also building equity and wealth for themselves and their children's futures. As the first in their families to ever own a home, they have taken a huge step in breaking the cycle of housing instability that has become a growing challenge for too many of our neighbors earning below the median household income in our region. It has been a privilege to participate in their journey of building and purchasing their own home. Having spent hundreds of hours on the job site working alongside Habitat for Humanity of Snohomish County staff and volunteers while going through the process of qualifying for and obtaining an affordable mortgage, they can now finally call this their own home. I am also humbled by the many individuals and organizations that have invested in this family, this home and this neighborhood. Without the support, contributions and involvement of our larger community, this home doesn't get built. There's still much more work to do as we continue to tackle our housing crisis. But today, I am grateful for the hope that is being unlocked by this set of keys that I had the honor of handing over to this amazing family.

We’re thrilled to share that our Bayside Home has been completed! Thank you to the many hands that went into building this decent and affordable home that will provide a brighter future for a hard-working family in our community. I want to take a moment to share my gratitude for our amazing staff, who do so much behind the scenes to make these projects a reality. What many people don’t realize is that we have a small (but mighty!) team of only 13 staff members at Habitat Snohomish that manage the many responsibilities it takes to keep our organization and important programs running smoothly and efficiently. However, as the costs of seemingly everything continues to rise and the funding landscape for nonprofits has gotten more complicated, ensuring that our organization can effectively continue providing essential services to our communities is getting much harder. As a result, our priority to continue supporting and providing sustainable compensation for our vital, hard-working staff has become a lot more challenging. As our housing crisis continues to intensify, we believe it is crucial to build and sustain capacity in our organization to address the critical needs of our communities today and for many years to come. Our goal is to add 75 monthly-giving members by March 31, 2025 to grow our ability to create a greater impact. “Where you live may be your strongest predictor of your health. We are thinking more and more about housing as something that we need to be investing in and supporting to improve the health of our patients.” — Dr. Megan T. Sandel Around the world, families without decent housing are exposed to greater personal and environmental risks, are less nourished, and have less access to health care, according to the World Health Organization.
