We help organizations build better teams and help teams build better organizations.
关于我们
We started Habitat because we know that running a business is hard and, often times, the hardest part becomes managing people. We know because we’ve studied, practiced, experienced, and iterated our way through the process of building highly effective teams for much of our lives. Through our learnings and our work we’ve arrived at a philosophy we believe is worth sharing, to help organizations build better teams and help teams build better organizations. We also believe the world doesn’t need yet another one-size fits all business book. Believe us, we’ve read quite a few. Just as every organism is different, with unique needs, certain conditions, and specific requirements that allow it to thrive, the best organizations evolve through research, data, and intentional strategy. It’s no longer enough to recycle the solutions of the past, instead, Habitat collaborates with our clients to pull the change out from within the organization, ensuring your teams will own the change we help bring. Most of all, we know that any good organizational change requires getting your hands dirty. There’s no system, framework, or thought leader that will replace the importance of radical clarity, honest conversations, and constant alignment in your organization. The solutions we install not only work to implement the change our clients need, but change the way our clients solve problems moving forward.

The Community Foundation of the Ozarks has granted a total of $50,000 in the Shaping Tomorrow Grant Program! This grant program was launched as an outcome of the Shaping Tomorrow research study, which highlighted the unique motivations and preferences of donors under the age of 40. Congrats to all grant recipients, and thanks to Community Foundation of the Ozarks for empowering our team to conduct this important research!

It was a pleasure to host Spencer Harris and Paige Oxendine with Habitat Communication & Culture! They continue to provide our Mercy leaders with exceptional professional development training.
Spencer Harris and I had a great time with Mercy last week! In addition to plenty of personal anecdotes and jokes about our own communication mishaps over the years, we covered: ?? Five habits of great communicators ? A self-assessment to uncover everyone's dominant communication style ?? Tips and tactics for enhancing our communication with other styles Effective Communication is one of my favorite sessions to share with groups. Thanks to Mercy for making it possible!

Yesterday our team had the privilege of talking about effective communication with 200+ leaders from Mercy. During this session participants complete a personal assessment that places them into one of four "bands," representing their communication style. And everyone knows you can't really have a band without also having a cool concert poster! ?? ?? ?? Thanks to Mercy for prioritizing continuous development for your leaders, Bill Hennessey (pictured here) for being a great participant, and our design pals at Mostly Serious for creating this custom concert poster to commemorate the event.

Our core values inform everything we do at Habitat Communication & Culture. We’re showing them off with ?new posters ? around the office, including this one highlighting our commitment to leading with candor. We believe being honest is a prerequisite for being a great partner, team member, and coach. Even when things are tough to say, it’s best we say them.

Let's Have an Argument at Work! That was the topic of conversation yesterday with 600+ healthcare leaders, where we dug into: ? The differences between an argument and a fight ? Signs to watch for to know a conversation is headed in a bad direction ? The elements of a great argument ? A five-step framework for engaging in healthy, productive arguments Arguments don't have to be big, loud, and angry moments. When we know the elements required for a great argument and inject structure, they can be a powerful tool for collaboration and decision-making.
