#Hydrogen + #Ammonia = Diesel-like performance! While?hydrogen?is a key player in?decarbonising the UK, its role goes beyond just being a clean fuel—it also?enhances the effectiveness of other net-zero fuels, such as?ammonia. This is part 4 of our?Hydrogen Week UK 2025?series! ? Clean Air Power?is currently collaborating with AFC Energy, MAHLE Powertrain and the University of Nottingham?on the?CMDC4 ENTICE Project—a cutting-edge initiative exploring how hydrogen can improve ammonia combustion for a more sustainable future. ? How It Works: ? - AFC Energy’s ammonia cracker?breaks down?ammonia (NH?)?into?hydrogen?and?nitrogen?before feeding a fuel mixture of hydrogen and ammonia into the engine. - Clean Air Power’s DigiJet injection technology?is used to precisely inject both?hydrogen and ammonia?into?UoN’s multi-cylinder test engine. - While?ammonia?has a?higher energy density?than hydrogen, it is?difficult to ignite—but a?small hydrogen pilot injection?acts as an accelerant, making ignition?far more efficient. ? Why This Matters: ? - By leveraging hydrogen’s unique properties, we can?unlock ammonia’s full potential?as a?practical and scalable?net-zero fuel—helping to accelerate?clean energy adoption. - The?ENTICE Project?is still ongoing, and we’re excited to share our findings?later this year! #H2WeekUK #H2Week #Hydrogen #Ammonia #HydrogenWeekUK #NetZero

This week, we are celebrating and supporting Hydrogen Week! Yesterday, Mark Cawdrey attended the North West Hydrogen Alliance event, learning more about the current challenges and innovations in the market. As supporters of Hydrogen Week UK, we're excited about the potential of hydrogen. The event highlighted key opportunities and challenges within the sector: ? Skills Gap: The industry needs 29,000 skilled workers by 2030. ? HyNet Project: This initiative is set to decarbonise hard-to-abate industries and integrate with renewables. ? Financing & Regulation: Clear policies and investment support are crucial for project success. While there is clearly still a lot of work to be done, it is exciting to see the progress being made toward a more sustainable future. Our expertise in project management, environmental consulting, stakeholder engagement and engineering consultancy can help clients navigate and deliver complex hydrogen projects. We recently published a thought leadership article about the production of hydrogen from BESS overflow energy, which you can find out more about here: https://lnkd.in/eYFceprk If you want to find out more about our expertise in renewable and low-carbon energy, head to our website: https://lnkd.in/ebEFVtUN You can also find out more about Hydrogen Week through their website: https://lnkd.in/eBrZNFSM #Hydrogen #HydrogenWeek #NWHA #SustainableEnergy

?? Hydrogen Week 2025! We had an amazing day yesterday celebrating Hydrogen Week 2025 at The Spine in Liverpool! ?? At the Delivering the Hydrogen Economy event, Steve Rotheram, Mayor of the Liverpool City Region, gave a powerful speech about the North West’s role in helping the UK meet its Net Zero target. It was clear that hydrogen is going to play a huge part in that journey. ?? The Metro Mayor acknowledged climate change as the defining challenge of our generation and highlighted the huge opportunities to accelerate the nation's climate ambitions, with hydrogen playing a key role in the UK’s energy transformation. At SETsquared, we’re really excited to be part of this movement, particularly through our Hydrogen Sustainable Transport Economy Accelerator. This programme is all about accelerating innovation and commercialisation in sustainable transport and low-carbon hydrogen production in the West of England. ???? → https://lnkd.in/eSCbepPV Big thanks to Hydrogen Week UK & all the other amazing sponsors who made this event possible: ?? Northern Valve & Fitting Company Limited ?? Schneider Electric ?? INEOS Electrochemical Solutions ?? Dr?ger ?? Hynet North West And thank you to our Sector Manager, Yuchen Gu, for representing SETsquared & spreading the word of our work! ?? #H2Week2025 #NetZero #Hydrogen #CleanEnergy #Innovation #Sustainability #Sustainable #Transport

The City of Liverpool College is proud to be supporting Hydrogen Week UK (24th Feb - 2nd March) Hydrogen technology will play a key role in helping to decarbonise many industries in the Liverpool City Region and the wider North West. Through our close connection to industry, we have created courses and training partnerships to ensure our students have the opportunity to learn these technologies, so they are able to go directly into employment, equipped with the skills employers are asking for. Colin Salmon, Director of Work Based Learning and STEM at The City of Liverpool College talks about how we are leading the way on Green Skills provisions in the region.
