Founded in 2010, H-Town Dream Center is a faith-based 501(c)3 nonprofit faithfully serving Montgomery County and the Greater Houston Area. Our mission is to give the hope, healing and freedom of Christ to the most vulnerable by helping break the chains of oppression and poverty, so they begin to dream again and become contributing members of society. This is made possible through our three Pillars of Impact: (1) FEEDING THE HUNGRY: Our Food Pantry provides over 23,000 meals per week to the homeless, individuals in crisis and families in need with the help of devoted volunteers. (2) RESCUING WOMEN & CHILDREN IN CRISIS: Our Hope Center provides safe shelter to women and children who are survivors of human trafficking, domestic violence and crisis pregnancy. (3) EDUCATING AT-RISK YOUTH: Our Community Center offers a safe place for under-resourced youth to find mentoring through sports, recreation, and education. PROGRAMS: Care & Share Food Pantry and Distribution Center, (Giving Hope to the Hungry) On the first three Fridays of every month, between 9-11am, the food pantry provides groceries to children, the elderly and under-resourced families. Over 62,500 pounds of food is distributed each month, providing and estimated 75,000 meals. TENT CITY: (Giving Hope to the Homeless) Each month on the third Saturday, our Dream Team takes to the streets to show the love of God to the homeless in Conroe. We currently serve approximately 50-100 people monthly with meals, blankets, clothes, hygiene bags and more. HOUSES OF HOPE: (Giving Hope to the Broken) Through our Houses of Hope, we provide safe housing for up to 50 women and children year-round, where they can discover God's purpose for their lives and begin to dream again. Every woman cared for at H-Town Dream Center is asked to commit to a 9-month, faith-based discipleship program where they learn the Bible and receive the love, hope and grace God has for them.     ?? Before every Dream Center outreach, we pause, join hands, and lift the event up to God—because this is His mission. We are simply His hands and feet, serving those in need. ?? This past Saturday, I led our volunteers in prayer before heading into Downtown Houston to minister to the homeless. Through food, clothing, love, and the message of Jesus, we saw lives touched and hearts changed. ?? Want to be part of something bigger? Join us at our next outreach!     Last night, I had the incredible opportunity to teach the Life Skills Class for our NXT GEN Program—a ministry that’s truly close to my heart. We had a room full of kids, eager to learn, as we dove into one of the most important topics: Mental Health. ? Each student walked away with their own "Mental Health Toolbox"—practical tools they can use in their daily lives to navigate challenges, build resilience, and grow stronger in their faith. ?? This isn’t just a class; it’s a calling. God has placed a deep burden on my heart for at-risk youth, and every moment spent teaching, mentoring, and pouring into these young lives is time well spent. They need hope. They need guidance. And most of all, they need to know they’re not alone. ?? I’m beyond grateful to be part of the H-Town Dream Center a ministry that’s not just talking about change but actively creating it. Thank you to everyone who supports this mission—it truly takes a village! ??   • ?? Full Circle: 16 Years of Faith, Service & Impact ?? Sixteen years ago, Shawn and Shannon Nelson stood on this very spot on Prayer Mountain, seeking God’s direction for their lives. It was here that Shannon received the vision for the H-Town Dream Center, a calling that would transform not only their lives but the lives of thousands in our community. Since that moment, they have poured their hearts into serving the most vulnerable—providing food for the hungry, shelter for women and children in crisis, and mentorship for at-risk youth. Their journey hasn’t always been easy, but through every challenge, one truth has remained: “Let us serve the least of these.” Today, they stand in this same place—grateful, humbled, and in awe of how far God has brought them.
