Last Saturday, Project Ready for School, a non-profit that serves underprivileged students in Miami, hosted its 2024 Back to School Bash at Frances Tucker Elementary. Last Saturday, our Alternative Investments Fellows and other program participants attended a half-day technical training session hosted by H.I.G. Capital. The training involved a working model of a potential company sale by its Founder. Fellows were required to submit their work in advance and left the session with a deeper understanding of modeling and how best to prepare for recruiting. One Fellow shared “The biggest takeaway was having the opportunity to see in-person exactly how investment professionals think about modeling. It was great to be able to go through complex topics and learn how they thought about modeling those intricacies. Additionally, it was very insightful to see where our models differed and ask them the logic behind their modeling assumptions.” Thank you Rohan Arora and Sanam Patel for taking time out of your weekend to support these young professionals by helping them to prepare for jobs on the buy side and presenting such a fantastic session!
