Founded by Cindy Barberes H. Honeycup creates natural body care for those who embrace clean living. As a family affected by addiction we donate clean beauty products to sober living centers to help with their clean living journey. Products smell and feel amazing and include lip and body scrubs, oils, lotion, lotion sticks, hand wash, and insect repellent which are vegan, cruelty-free. All plant-based ingredients are clearly listed for full transparency and we encourage upcycling of our sustainable packaging. The body scrub, body oils, and lotion stick are MADE SAFE Certified, including the Take Care Gift Bundle. In addition to ingredients banned in the US, we exclude the 6,500 ingredients banned by MADE SAFE. All products are made locally by Raintree Labs, a formulator and contract manufacturer. Our founder Cindy believes self-care not only contributes to a person’s wellness but better prepares them to help others.

    KEY STEPS FOR BEAUTY BRANDS TO MEET MoCRA 2023-2024 DEADLINES: STAY AHEAD OF COMPLIANCE. MoCRA compliance is a pivotal milestone for every beauty brand looking to thrive in the US market. As the founder of H. Honeycup and the Quality Control Manager at Raintree Labs, I can interpret the details of MoCRA (the Modernization of Cosmetics Regulation Act). I'd like to share insider insights and time-sensitive strategies to help you navigate this regulatory maze. Here's a breakdown of key deadlines and the essential documents you'll need. SEE INFOGRAMS https://bit.ly/3UmKlMf Safety Substantiation (Deadline: 12/29/23) *Even though the deadline has passed, ensure your manufacturer possesses necessary data to support the safety of your cosmetic products. *Request vital documents such as manufacturer Certificate of Analysis (COA) for each batch and Safety Data Sheets (SDS) from ingredient suppliers. ? Adverse Event Reporting (Deadline: 12/29/23) *Verify that your manufacturer has established a robust system for preparing reports on serious adverse events, which you must submit to the FDA within 15 days of occurrence. *Request copies of manufacturer's Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) on adverse event reporting, plus sample reports. ?     Unlocking the Secrets of Clean Beauty with AI. Confused by all those cryptic ingredient names on your beauty products? Wondering what they mean, their purpose, and if they're truly safe? The good news is, with a smartphone and the power of Artificial Intelligence (AI), you can become a clean beauty detective in seconds. AI: Your Personal Beauty Product Decoder 1.???Ingredient Breakdown:? No more deciphering unfamiliar terms. Simply copy and paste the ingredients list from your favorite brand's website into your AI assistant (like Gemini at Google). Let AI break it down for you. Example for a body lotion: QUESTION: What are these ingredients and how are they used in beauty products? Water Glyceryl stearate Cetearyl alcohol Sodium stearoyl lactylate Glycerin Theobroma grandiflorum (cupuacu) butter Simmondsia chinensis (jojoba) seed oil Propanediol (plant derived) Allantoin Xanthan gum Sodium hyaluronate Jasminum officinale (jasmine) flower extract Tocopherol (vitamin E) Rosmarinus officinalis (rosemary) leaf extract Citrus aurantium bergamia (bergamot) oil Chamomilla recutita (matricaria) flower extract Phenoxyethanol Ethylhexylglycerin AI ANSWER: Here's the response for one of those ingredients: Sodium Stearoyl Lactylate:?This fancy name translates to an emulsifier that helps keep your lotion smooth and creamy. AI can help you check against their databases too. Just ask. Example: Let's see if our body lotion ingredients pass the EU test: QUESTION: Are any of these ingredients banned in the European Union? List of ingredients (same as before). AI ANSWER: According to EU regulations, none of the ingredients are banned in cosmetic products. Some, like glyceryl stearate and cetearyl alcohol are commonly used emulsifiers and thickeners that are perfectly acceptable in the EU.     To Beauty Brands: The Impact of MoCRA is Here As the founder of H. Honeycup and a Conscious Beauty Collective Shop member, I’m responsible for the product safety of my natural body care. I also serve as the Quality Control Manager at Raintree Labs (our manufacturer), where I implemented and maintain the QC Program. Here are my thoughts on the new/developing U.S. beauty regulations, as seen in Consciously Beautiful Magazine. The landscape of cosmetic regulation is changing. The Modernization of Cosmetics Regulation Act (MoCRA), passed in December 2022, brings the most significant update to the US FDA's regulations in over 80 years. This post unpacks MoCRA's key elements and offers guidance for beauty brands to navigate the new landscape. Key Elements of MoCRA for Beauty Brands Facility Registration and Product Listing (with Small Business Exemptions): Responsible parties (cosmetic brands) must register their products with the FDA (free online). The portal launched in 2023. Compliance with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP): GMP establishes minimum standards for cosmetic manufacturing to ensure product safety and quality. Brands must ensure their manufacturer complies. Safety Substantiation: Brands must ensure data on ingredients, manufacturing, and finished products is available from manufacturers to ensure products are safe for consumers when used according to labeled directions. New Labeling Requirements: All brand labels must comply with MoCRA, including a complete ingredient list and potential allergen disclosures. Adverse Event Reporting: Manufacturers must report serious adverse events to the FDA within 15 days of becoming aware of them. Brands must ensure the manufacturer has this capability. Record Keeping: Manufacturers must retain records of manufacturing processes, ingredient sourcing, and safety testing for at least 2 years. Brands must ensure manufacturer has this capability. Challenges and Considerations: MoCRA presents adjustments for brands and manufacturers, even those previously compliant with FDA guidelines. Regulations might be open to interpretation initially. Suggestions for Brands: 1. Review the current FDA Draft Guidance on MoCRA. 2. Stay updated on the FDA's MoCRA-related information. 3. Determine if exemptions apply to your brand or contract manufacturer (facility registration/product listing). 4. Understand mandatory MoCRA aspects (adverse events, safety, labeling). 5.
