Our Springfield, Glastonbury, and Norwood offices recently hosted a two-day in-house wetland training! Day one featured an engaging in-person presentation, while day two took us to Glastonbury, CT for a hands-on field visit to explore challenging soils. The training was led by Paul Davis, a retired GZA Springfield principal with a wealth of knowledge in wetland delineation. This comprehensive session delved into the definition of wetlands from both regulatory and scientific perspectives, providing an understanding of what’s regulated by which agency, and the qualifications needed to delineate wetlands. Key discussions included distinguishing between hydric soils and Connecticut regulated wetland soils, understanding technical terms related to drainage class and alluvial/floodplain soils. A big thank you to everyone who participated!

Conducted in-person and virtually, speakers James Marsland, P.E. and Gregory DiMillio will discuss the innovative and cost-effective method used to immobilize organic silt before using deep compaction to redevelop the state pier as a purpose-built offshore wind facility capable of supporting heavy cargo. https://lnkd.in/eJHxgFyT
