In 2010, Gyro Shack was founded by Gus Zaharioudakis in Boise, Idaho. Gus spent the next 5 years building brand loyalty with great food and great service. In 2015 Gyro Shack ownership decided the time was right to franchise and they began building the operational standards and documents to begin franchising in 2016. With low investment startup costs, simple menu, an under-served market segment, and most importantly, the high quality and great tasting product. Gyro Shack was ripe for expansion. Today, Gyro Shack is rebuilding it's emphasis on franchising as a means of expanding their business while maintaining the strong reputation. Gyro Shack franchisees get the benefit of Gyro Shack Team's more than 50 years of franchise experience as both franchisors and franchisees. We pride ourselves on providing both authentic and unique takes on the traditional, Greek gyro. We choose only the freshest of ingredients for our customers, delivered at their pace. 9 years ago we bought this Brand. At that time I was adamant we needed to outsource our tzatziki production in order to create consistency at scale. So we did. In the past 9 years we have gone through 3 different production partners. 3 months ago we brought this production back in-house. Why? - production at scale in large batches is just as easy to mess up as small batches. - it’s easier and less costly to throw away 5 gallons than 500 gallons. - it’s just a better, fresher product as our founder intended. Thanks Gus Zaharioudakis for creating such a wonderful sauce as the foundation for your Brand! #gogreek
