???????? ???????????? ?????????????????????? ???????????? ?????????????? Thanks to everyone who dived into this week’s trivia challenge! Your knowledge of flood probabilities is rock solid. ???????? ????????’?? ???????????????? ??????: The probability of a 100-year flood event being equaled or exceeded in any year is ________. The term "100-year flood" refers to an event that has a 1% probability of being equaled or exceeded in any given year. This does not mean such floods happen only once every 100 years—it’s a statistical measure based on historical data. Flood events of this magnitude can happen more than once within a short period, depending on climatic and environmental conditions. ?????? ?????? ????????? The concept of a 100-year flood is used in floodplain mapping, insurance rates, and infrastructure design to prepare for extreme weather events. ?????????????? ????????????: ???????????????? ???????????? ???????? ???????????? ?????????????? GWES is proud to support Brantley County through construction inspection services as part of their Local Maintenance and Improvement Grant (LMIG) program. This paving project involved a comprehensive assessment of the road, identifying deficiencies, and implementing effective treatments to restore and improve its condition. The process included milling and removing old asphalt from areas with significant cracking and potholing, followed by patching those sections. A leveling course of asphalt was applied to address rutting and ensure a smooth base, topped with a final surface layer of asphalt for durability and longevity. Tack coats were used throughout to ensure strong adhesion between layers, ensuring a high-quality result. Check out the video and images showcasing the paving process and the finished roadway! We’re proud to play a role in enhancing infrastructure and improving the roads that keep our communities connected. #GWES #CivilEngineering #ConstructionInspection #BrantleyCounty #LMIG #Infrastructure #ProjectUpdate
