Imagine a safe space for Black girls to learn, heal, and excel. You can turn this dream into a reality this #GivingTuesday by donating to Gwen’s Girls capital campaign. Investing in the new headquarters means new programs and increased participants. Plans include a STEM learning lab, a recording studio, a commercial teaching kitchen and cafe, behavioral and mental health services, conference rooms that are available to the community, and a pantry and laundry area to meet the basic needs of young people. Currently, Gwen’s Girls offers afterschool programs, summer camps, tutoring, mental health support and more. #GiveBigPittsburgh www.GwensGirls.org ??

WE ARE THRIVING at #gwensgirls Honoring Youth Justice Action Month with the Pittsburgh Steelers Gwen's Girls BGALA Emerging Leader, Mirah joined an incredible panel hosted by the Steelers in recognition of Youth Justice Action Month. Alongside inspiring voices like Kevin Richardson of the EXONERATED FIVE and representatives from Amachi Pittsburgh, Homeless Children’s Education Fund, and Café Momentum, Mirah shared her powerful story and insights on how we can create a better future for all youth. The conversation centered around the juvenile justice system, using our voices to spark change, and ways our Pittsburgh community can work together to build spaces where young people can truly thrive. Exploring Culture, Creativity, and Respect in STEM! Our girls have been on a cultural journey, diving into the traditions, history, and creativity of countries around the world! From discovering Chile's powerful tectonic forces and Australia’s unique wildlife to Jamaica's rhythmic Reggae roots and Ghana’s vibrant Kente cloth, each week has been filled with learning and hands-on fun. They’ve crafted paper boomerangs, designed 3D models in TinkerCAD, mixed music tracks with Audiotool, and even created their own woven art inspired by Ghanaian fabric. Alongside these activities, we’ve focused on respect—building a space where everyone feels valued and heard. We're so proud of their curiosity, creativity, and respect as they explore the world through STEM! #STEMAroundTheWorld #CulturalExploration #GirlsInSTEM #RespectAndCreativity
