We’ve introduced a new generation of our #wireless power transfer architecture! This is the world’s first true modular, large scale, fully synchronous wireless power transfer system operating at 24GHz. It’s flexible to enable building a variety of systems and can deliver watts to kilowatts of wireless power over distances of up to several kilometers. In a new article, our CEO Narbeh Derhacobian discusses why wireless power transfer technology hasn’t gone mainstream – yet. The ambitious goal of delivering power wirelessly over several meters or even kilometers was originally envisioned by Nikola Tesla more than 100 years ago. Narbeh explains the factors affecting adoption: technology complexity, cost, and market readiness; and shares some of the advances that are bringing us ever closer to making wireless power transfer at distance a reality. "If GuRu can make electrochromatic windows go about their business without physical wiring, the company will make an impact on the energy efficiency field beyond a direct savings in costs and and carbon emissions. Eliminating miles of unnecessary wiring will have a ripple effect on supply chain carbon emissions and resource consumption, too." https://lnkd.in/gG9G5wuc #wirelesspower #innovation

We’re delighted to have received a Small Business Innovation Research (SBIR) grant from the U.S. Department of Energy's (DOE) Building Technologies Office. The grant will fund research on integrating #wireless power and control with electrochromic windows to make energy-efficient building upgrades more accessible and economically viable for commercial and government buildings. This is a great example of how GuRu Wireless’ technology can deliver power over the air to enable applications where batteries or wires are too expensive or impractical. https://lnkd.in/gMeXSUT2 #wirelesspower #innovation #smartbuildings #sustainability?
