Exciting News for Savannah's Waterfront! The Savannah Historic District Board of Review approved the design details for the new Full-Service Hilton Hotel and Plaza! This design approval is the cornerstone in the development of a vibrant new hub connecting River Street and the Savannah Riverwalk on the eastern half of our beautiful waterfront! This central plaza is set to become the heartbeat of Savannah's waterfront, drawing people from all directions with its inviting atmosphere and human-scale design. Whether you're headed to catch the water ferry or to explore the area's hotels and entertainment, this plaza is destined to be a true gem for leisure, dining, and entertainment. The Hilton is proposed to include a 2-story bar on the pool deck, and the 8th floor lounge with the best views in town. The design creates a space for our visitors by revitalizing an area beaming with rich history. From its industrial roots in coal, gas, lumber, and iron in the 19th century to its future as a hub for cleaner industries, like authentic entertainment and sustainable tourism, this spot on the riverfront holds a special place in Savannah's story. As designers, we're committed to creating an atmosphere that feels welcoming and inclusive – a gathering place where memories are made and stories are shared. As an overall development, River Street East is taking a tremendous step forward in Savannah's green future.
