Today, members of our sustainability team were all smiles out bright and early! We volunteered at Coastal Conservation Association-CC’s Poco Rojo Kid Fish Tournament! ???????? Kid Fish teaches kids about responsible anglership and the importance of protecting our natural resources, as key parts of environmental stewardship.

Recycling is so important to all of us at GCGV ??. From looking for ways to eliminate waste in our supply chain through taking advantage of #advancedrecycling technologies to partnering with unique organizations like Magpies and Peacocks for recycling worn-out flame-retardant clothing, our team is always looking for ways to reduce or eliminate waste. Beyond these efforts, our products help reduce waste in other ways. Plastics like those we produce are used in food containers and packaging for meat, cheese, liquid, and frozen food because they provide protection during transport and storage. The reduction of food waste plays an important role in reducing GHG emissions. As a key pillar of our Good Neighbor Program, Environmental Stewardship drives our efforts at the site. #AmericaRecyclesDay

Last night we celebrated winners of the Coastal Bend Bays Foundation's?annual Conservation Awards, including our very own Sandy Rodriguez! Sandy was honored with the Coastal Steward Professional award for going above and beyond to organize employee-driven environmental stewardship efforts. We are proud to support the work of the Bays Foundation and honored for the opportunity to highlight the efforts of one of our own. Congrats to all of this year's award recipients!

Thank you to all veterans for your courage and sacrifice to protect our safety and freedoms. Today, we gathered to honor our GCGV veterans and celebrated the Marine Corps' birthday with a ceremonial cake cutting. Thank you to everyone who joined us in thanking our veterans for their service and leadership.

We always love the chance to catch up with some of our partners who made GCGV possible! Today, we spent time with Associated Builders and Contractors Texas Coastal Bend Rio Grande Valley Council?leadership. We shared in our commitment to safety and excellence in completing projects. Site Manager Paul Fritsch thanked our contractor partners for being a key part of the GCGV family. We are truly blessed in the Coastal Bend with companies who care deeply about the work they do in supporting progress and workforce development in the region. Thank you to ABC for facilitating this visit and your work in recognizing the companies that are building our future!

Today, we welcomed leaders from American Bank to the site for an overview and tour. It was great to connect over our shared values of supporting the communities in which we operate and being a good neighbor. Last week, we had a lot to celebrate here at GCGV! Our team handed out candy at several community trunk or treats and Halloween with the Hooks, held our own costume contest and trivia event to benefit United Way of the Coastal Bend, and more! Happy Halloween! ??????
