We're proud to have been part of the Tulane Energy Institute's 'Power Chats' event. It’s always inspiring to connect with the next generation of energy leaders and share insights about the industry. Congratulations to the Master of Management in Energy students for their enthusiasm and dedication! #FutureEnergyLeaders #Networking #PowerChats #MMEProgram #TulaneBusiness #FreemanBusiness #TulaneEnergyInstitue #RenewableEnergy #GWT #GulfWindTechnology
On Friday, November 8th, students in our Master of Management in Energy (MME) program participated in “Power Chats” with the advisory board of the Tulane Energy Institute (TEI). This board, consisting of 30 members from companies such as Entergy, Bernhard, DCOR, L.L.C., and Gulf Wind Technology, engaged with our students in a dynamic networking event. The event featured 18 stations where MME students and advisory board members engaged in six rounds of eight-minute conversations. These sessions, tailored to align students' interests and specializations with industry experts, provided invaluable networking practice and insights. Bentley Roberts , MME ’25, shared his thoughts: “Learning from business professionals adds an extra layer of depth to the MME curriculum, truly bringing the program to life.” The advisory board members were equally impressed, praising the students for their engagement and enthusiasm. In addition to the Power Chats, TEI hosted a panel discussion featuring board members Claire Gotham , Lola Soniregun, Brian Page, and Bill Hammarstrom ? MBA ?. This session, open to all Freeman students, sparked a thought-provoking dialogue on the energy industry. We are proud of our students and grateful to the advisory board for their time and expertise. We look forward to more enriching experiences in the future! #TulaneBusiness #FreemanBusiness #TulaneEnergyInstitue

We're thrilled to share some groundbreaking work from the team at GWT, in collaboration with Sandia National Laboratories. Our recent project, presented at NAWEA/WindTech 2024, focused on the aerodynamic characterization of 3D scanned wind turbine blades using both experimental and computational methods. ? Key Highlights: ?? Advanced Testing Capabilities: We utilized our state-of-the-art Stratasys 3D printer and custom-built wind tunnel to conduct high-precision tests. ?? Innovative Research: Investigated the aerodynamic impacts of leading-edge manufacturing defects on wind turbine blades, revealing significant performance losses due to defects. ?? Cutting-Edge Simulation: Developed a CFD model to simulate wind tunnel flow, achieving high flow uniformity and low turbulence intensity. ?? 3D Scanning Precision: Demonstrated the ability to detect and characterize defects with high accuracy using a handheld infrared structured light scanner. ? Results: ?? Significant reduction in performance due to defects, with the wave defect causing the highest impact. ?? Excellent match between CFD and wind tunnel data, confirming the reliability of our methods. ? Stay tuned! We’ll be sharing an in-depth white paper in the coming weeks, detailing our findings and methodologies from this pioneering research. The paper will provide a closer look at the technical innovations and insights fueling Gulf Wind Technology's advancements in wind energy. #CFD #WindTunnel #3DPrinting #Engineering #Innovation #WindEnergy #NAWEA #WindTech2024 #WindTurbines #RenewableEnergy #GWT #GWTaccelerator
