We are deeply saddened to share the passing of Jeanne Luckey, a founding shareholder and board member of Coastal American, who continued her dedicated service on the Gulf States Insurance Group board following the merger. Jeanne's commitment to our board and her steadfast support of management were invaluable. Beyond her professional contributions, Jeanne was a true champion of service in Mississippi. With over 30 years in the Mississippi Republican Party, she held roles including president of the Mississippi Federation of Republican Women, co-chair of the state party, and delegate to the Republican National Convention, where she spoke earlier this year. Luckey, who held degrees from the University of Mississippi and the University of Southern Mississippi, was a so known for her service on the governing board of the state's public universities. In education, Jeanne's influence was profound. Appointed by former Gov. Phil Bryant to the Institutions of Higher Learning Board, she championed accessibility initiatives for students statewide and launched a task force to examine the university system's compliance with the Americans with Disabilities Act. She also worked as a special education teacher in the Ocean Springs School District nearly 20 years ago. More recently, she owned a real estate holding company called JCL, LLC, and Magnolia State Development Group. Luckey's love for the arts also led her to serve on several boards supporting arts and culture on the Mississippi Gulf Coast, including the Walter Anderson Museum of Art, the Great Southern Club in Gulfport, and the Gulf Coast Debutante Society. Lt. Gov. Delbert Hosemann wrote that Luckey's impact on Mississippi will be felt for years to come. "Her passion for life, her family, and the issues that were important to her was immeasurable," Hosemann said. Her obituary can be viewed here: https://bit.ly/40MvTlS

Gulf States had the distinct honor of attending this year's Louisiana Insurers' Conference (LIC) in Baton Rouge, LA, last week. It was an excellent opportunity to engage with industry leaders, gain insights into the latest regulatory and legislative updates, and explore advancements in areas like company management, underwriting, and claims processing. The Louisiana Insurers' Conference (LIC), established in 1942, serves as the key trade association for insurance carriers in Louisiana. Over the past 81 years, LIC has been instrumental in advancing the insurance industry and supporting policyholders through strong leadership, fostering industry growth, and addressing emerging challenges in the sector. In 2013, LIC expanded its reach by merging with the Association of Fire and Casualty Companies (LAFAC), now a dedicated division within LIC that represents domestic fire and casualty insurance providers. LIC is also an approved provider of Insurance Continuing Education Credits through the Louisiana Department of Insurance, offering programs that address a wide range of industry topics. These include legislation and regulatory updates, company management, marketing, underwriting, claims processing, taxation, and investment strategies—equipping members with critical insights and resources to navigate the evolving insurance landscape. #GulfStatesInsurance #TeamGulfStates
