We are continuing to celebrate our veterans. Today, we hosted our Honoring Veterans Lunch & Learn, paying tribute to all the veterans that protect us. Thank you to our Connecting US workgroup for hosting and having meaningful conversations about military life and showing appreciation to all who have served.?

This Veterans Day we are honoring the brave men and women in the military who have served our nation. Throughout the week, we shared inspirational stories from a few Veterans of US. Today, we extend our deepest gratitude to each of you as we reflect on your commitment, courage, and dedication to our country. While today may be Veterans Day, we thank and stand with our veterans every day. Thank you for your service.?

Today, we are honoring our final veteran for our Veterans of US series - Clinical Review Nurse, Emily Hilf. Emily, Chief Nurse, has been a member of the Air Force Reserves since 2008 and has supported critical missions including Operation Iraqi Freedom and Operation Enduring Freedom. During her tenure, she has provided critical oversight to launching medical missions to the Pacific and through the Covid crisis. Emily is in active service as Chief Nurse out of 911 AE and ensures nurses maintain their high standards of care, mentoring, and recruiting future Air Force Flight Nurses. Emily shared with US how being a veteran has shaped who she is today. “Being a Veteran has given me extreme pride in my country and a purpose that is more than just me, one that extends to the people that I have met and trained with that have become family.” Thank you for your service, Emily. We are proud you are a member of US!

We are honored to share our next veteran highlight in our Veterans of US series. Today, we are highlighting Director of Medicare Finance Operations and chief finance officer, Glenn Stiles. During his 24-year military career, Glenn served in the Navy and the Navy Reserves before retiring as a Chief Petty Officer. During his time in the Navy, he worked in Drug Interdiction and served in critical missions supporting air surveillance and port security for Operation Allied Force, Operation Iraqi Freedom, and Operation Desert Storm. We asked Glenn to share a little bit about his experience with US and what being a veteran means to him. “Shortly after my active duty, I joined our family of companies. Our organization has been amazing in the support they gave me and my family during my 19 years in the reserves. I learned excellent leadership skills that are instrumental in being successful from my time in the military and with our family of companies. Each Veterans Day, I reach out to the veterans I have worked with over the years and thank them for their close friendship, support, and knowledge they gave me.?The shipmates I had are now lifelong friends and will always share a special bond with the experiences we have lived through together.?My time in the military really showed me that we are all more alike than we are different, and that the world is smaller than any of us realize.” Thank you for your service, Glenn! We are so glad you are part of US!

This week, we pulled out our GPS to help US navigate through Compliance and Ethics week! Our theme, Navigate with US, took us through our best-in-class Navigator program. We traveled through the many destinations of compliance and ethics. Our team members got to see how everyone plays a role in our Navigator program and how it guides US to do the right things, the right way.?

With Veterans Day around the corner, we are expressing our gratitude and honoring the courageous men and women who have served and continue to serve our nation. To say just a small thank you, we will be highlighting a few of the veterans that make up US. Our first veteran for this special series is Human Resources Program Consultant, Marisol Carter. Marisol served as a member of the United States Marine Corps for four years before retiring as a Corporal Maintenance Management Systems Auditor. During her time with the Marines, she served in the 3rd Engineer Maintenance Battalion and Wing Support Squadron 272 and was involved in several important missions including supporting Desert Shield and Desert Storm. We asked Marisol to share just a little bit with US about what Veterans Day means to her and how being a veteran has shaped her.?? “Being a veteran instilled in me a deep sense of resilience and adaptability, especially in high stress situations. The military also fostered in me a respect and appreciation for diversity and working with people from all backgrounds. The experiences you share together break the barriers that divide. Also, being a Marine created a lifelong pride of belonging. Our unique experiences and the bonds shared with other Marines continues to this day – Semper Fi!" Thank you for your service, Marisol. Today we are celebrating US! Our family of companies was recently named one of the best places to work in Jacksonville by the Jacksonville Business Journal for a third year in a row. Our Senior Communications Consultant, Laura Flood, Senior Communications and Engagement Specialist, Nicole Highsmith, and Senior Director of Program Management Office, Shelley Coleman attended the Jacksonville Business Journal’s Best Places to Work event and accepted our award on behalf of US. We are proud of this achievement that recognizes our team members and shows how much we care – care about what we do, those we serve and most importantly and always, one another.?

A big congratulations to Senior Director of Program Management Office Shelley Coleman on completing the GuideWell Leadership Academy. At our family of companies, the career growth and progression of our team members is important to US. And we are so proud to stand with Shelley as we celebrate this huge accomplishment.
