During the Investors' Outlook on Future Space Economy Applications session during #Satshow that was moderated by Dara Panahy with Milbank LLP, Dara said in 2024 there were 600 investment transactions valued at $8.6B. Meagan Murphy Crawford, MBA of Space Fund said raising capital in the space industry is an education challenge. Space is still a very new area of investment. Most people don't know that we use space data every day. The space industry isn't correlated to any other industry. The space industry has had consistent positive growth and offers a bulletproof investment opportunity. One application to invest in: Space stations David Diaz of Loundon County, Virginia said investor's need to understand the geographic area where they are operating. For example, they need to consider where the talent is. There is a space race going on around the world. There is a desire to collaborate across geographies. Luck favors the proactive. One application to invest in: Earth observation Mike Greenley of MDA Space said the commercialization of space is having a big impact for space investment. Space is becoming a strong commercial market of its own. Space is now a persistent investment opportunity. Space is now much more accessible. Space is solid due to the commercialization. The strength of geopolitical collaboration is key. One application to invest in: Communications Raphael Roettgen, CFA of E2MC (Earth-to-Mars Capital) Ventures said there's so much coming in the future, but we need more education to grow space investment. Space is a high volatility sector. If you can't take the heat get off the launch pad. Short term for space is 10 years. One application to invest in: In space manufacturing
