To recap the month, be mindful of what you are eating during stressful periods, try to maintain a normal eating pattern, find humor, seek out resources to help you relax and reduce tension. Talk to a professional if you need more help in managing your stress levels. Here’s to a healthier you!

No matter what, don’t ignore signs of stress. Be aware of your personal stress levels and take action to address the stress as soon as possible. Add some positivity to your day with friends, laughter, exercise, medication, and nutrition. With proper management, you can avoid the negative health effects of chronic stress.

April is National Occupational Therapy Month. Occupational therapists help patients get back to their day-to-day lives with re-learning skills such as bathing, dressing, cooking and safely transferring from bed to chair. Thank a therapist this month for all they do to keep us independent.

Passover begins today at sundown. There’s no better time than Passover to say thanks for the love we’re surrounded by all year. Happy Passover!

Today is Earth Day! What a great time to get out and work in the garden, take a walk in a park or just stop and smell the flowers. Fresh air and taking care of our planet is good for your overall mental well-being.

We hope some of our advice on reducing stress will make a difference to your overall well-being. Keep on working on managing the things that you can control and try to reduce being influenced by those events you cannot control.

Studies have shown that stress may increase the use of alcohol and foods high in fat and sugar. It may seem like a good relief, but it is temporary and can create additional health issues. Try to anticipate your stressors and be prepared to manage it with healthier diet options or exercise.

This week is National Volunteer Week. If you have time, consider signing up to give back in your community. It does wonders for your overall well-being. If you don’t have the time to spare, take a moment and thank those that are volunteering and are making a difference in your life and community.
