Meet Jessica Golden! Jessica is an Associate with GTX Legal. Jessica has extensive experience in multiple areas of law, including commercial contracts, real estate, oil and gas, document review, and financial crime investigations. Jessica started her career at an oil and gas company, Chesapeake Energy, where she focused on mineral leases and other contracts for the company’s holdings across the United States. After a few years, Jessica transitioned to an arts and crafts retailer, Hobby Lobby, where she assisted with the review and analysis of commercial leases and the yearly calculation of Common Area Maintenance. Jessica moved to a position as an investigator for Wells Fargo conducting both internal and external fraud investigations, and after 4 years at Wells Fargo, she joined GTX Legal in April of 2024. Meet Laken Hurst! Laken is a Senior Associate with GTX Legal, with a breadth of experience in business and legal affairs. She brings robust transactional experience, effectively navigating complex agreements. Laken started her legal career working in-house for Country Music Television (CMT), where she supported the company in all areas of business including drafting and negotiating a variety of agreements for television and live events such as development agreements, production agreements, license and simulcast agreements, vendor agreements, and non-disclosure agreements. After a few years at CMT, Laken joined the in-house legal team at Turner Sports where she continued working on agreements for television and live events and broadened her experience to include sports and digital entertainment. While in-house at Turner Sports, Laken drafted and negotiated a wide range of agreements including software licensing agreements, marketing agreements, talent agreements, and digital services agreements. Laken received her Juris Doctor from Belmont University College of Law, and her Bachelor of Arts (Journalism) degree from the University of Montevallo.

Zach used to work with a Partner at Jones Day who always started his review with the "boilerplate terms" in the back of an agreement. Overtime, Zach came to see the wisdom of this approach, as he observed counterparties bury most-favored-nation pricing, non-compete, non-solicit, exclusivity and other material terms in the miscellaneous section.
