The Society of Women in Business (SWiB) is an undergraduate organization whose purpose is to provide opportunities for interaction between members and the professional community, to serve as a source of information pertaining to women in business, and to support women in their efforts to pursue higher levels of educational and professional achievement. The Society of Women in Business was created in the summer of 2003 by Melissa McAvoy. With the help of advisor, Deborah Turner, and the Society of Women in Engineering at Georgia Tech, SWIB obtained the status of "interest group" in the Spring of 2004. Since then the Society of Women in Business has hosted numerous professional speakers and events. Official acceptance of the organization charter occurred in 2006. EXEC SPOTLIGHT: Camryn Bryant ? Camryn is a third year Literature, Media, and Communication student who is pursuing a certificate in French. She has been a member of SWIB for two years. Her favorite part of SWIB is meeting all of the new members every semester, and attending our Networking Nights. Camryn is so thankful for her SWIB Community!

EXEC SPOTLIGHT: Hilary Chen Hilary is a third-year Business Administration major with a concentration in Information Technology Management and a double major in Computer Science. This is her third year as a member of SWIB, and she currently serves as the Executive Vice President and has previously served as the 2022-2023 Vice President of Internal Affairs. Her favorite part of SWIB is connecting with and empowering other women through Info Sessions, Lunch and Learns, and Networking Nights! Thank you for being such an amazing Executive VP!??

EXEC SPOTLIGHT: Sukrutha Suthari ? Sukrutha is a 3rd year Business Administration Major Concentrating in ITM and pursuing a minor in Computing and Business through the Denning T&M Program. Sukrutha has been a member of SWIB since her freshman year. Her favorite part of SWIB has been being able to plan a trip for 12 of our members to go to the Harvard Business School for a Women Leadership Conference. She has loved building a community in SWIB and giving back to it one coffee chat at a time! We love having you on our team! Thank you for all of your hard work this year.

This week, we want to thank our 2023-2024 executive board for all of their hard work! Lily Utt is our Vice President of finance! She is a third year Business Administration major concentrating in Finance, and she is pursuing a minor in Engineering and Business through the Denning Technology and Management Program. Lily has been a member of SWIB since her freshman year and has previously served at the New Member Project Manager. Her favorite part of SWIB is getting to meet incredible women from all across campus and constantly feeling inspired by the amazing things everyone in SWIB accomplishes. She feels so lucky to be a part of such an uplifting and supportive group of women! Thank you so much for your contribution to SWIB!

Member Spotlight: Elise Gran Elise Gran is a 3rd year Business Administration major, with a concentration in Operations and Supply Chain management as well as pursuing a certificate in Business Analytics. This is her second year as a SWIB member, and her favorite part of SWIB is having a community of inspiring, intelligent women in the club to learn from and network with at Georgia Tech. Outside of academic and professional experiences, Elise loves music, through playing multiple instruments and enjoying concerts and any live music often! We are so proud of everything you’re accomplishing!

This week we are thanking our 2023-2024 Executive Bord for all of their hard work! Today, we are spotlighting Hana Ozaki ! Hana is a third-year Business Administration major concentrating in Accounting and earning a certificate in Business Analytics. This is her third year as a member of SWIB, and she previously served as the Corporate Social Responsibility Project Manager. Hana’s favorite part of SWIB is the supportive community that you become immersed in and the learning and growth that you gain from meeting other members and hearing their experiences. She has also learned a lot about networking and is excited to continue to give back to this organization. Hana has been an amazing resource to everyone in SWIB!

As the semester comes to an end, we would like to take this week to appreciate our incredible 2023-2024 Executive Board. Today we are spotlighting Madeline Poch ! Maddie is a third-year Business Administration concentrating in IT Management. She has been a member of SWIB for three years and she currently serves as the Vice President of Member Engagement. Her favorite part of SWIB is being able to give back to a community that helped her so much personally and professionally. Thank you so much for your work this year!
