GTS was honored to give a training presentation today about Geotechnical Investigations and Earthwork Testing to the next class of earthwork foreman from Nabholz. Is this the set of a spooky 👻 movie?! Nope, that’s just our curing room! A lot of careful planning went into the design of this room, and we are very proud of it! 🙌 Proper storage of specimens is crucial when testing concrete and other cementitious materials for strength. In this room, located in our Fayetteville, AR laboratory, each day of the month has its own tiered shelf area to organize the day's testing. A fogging system with a temperature sensor monitors conditions and self-adjusts to mix just the right amount of hot and cold water so that room is maintained between 69.8- 77° F, with 95% humidity. This, along with stringent record keeping allows our testing lab to remain in compliance with ASTM C511 and ensures our concrete and masonry specimens are in the best possible environment for accurate strength results. 💪 💪

🌳🏢 Exciting news! GTS is proud to be the Geotechnical Engineer of record for the new Walmart Home Office. This monumental project spans 350 acres of native greenery, features 15 acres of lakes, and boasts over 2 million sq ft of mass timber construction across 11 buildings. Additionally, nine amenity buildings will enhance the work environment with facilities like a fitness center, dining areas, daycare, auditorium, and a visitor center.
